Poorly made and dangerous,
This review is from: 2pack - Yellow 8 Compartment Pull Apart Pill Organizer (Health and Beauty)
Immediately after purchase, the edges of the plastic lids for the daily dose containers began disintegrating. Small pieces of plastic were mixed in with the medications. I'm young and have good eyesight so I caught the problem before my parents took their medications. An older person with poor eyesight wouldn't catch the problem and would likely swallow pieces of plastic along with their medications. This product is unsafe and should be taken off the market. Much better and safer medication planners are available at a much better price.

This is a wonderful med box. I have used many during my years as a nurse, and this one is super sized and great for anyone who takes lots of med or supplements.
I found no rough edges, and I have no difficulties opening it and have found no pieces of plastic breaking off of the individual pill holders or the large box. I have arthritis and carpel tunnel and the tops of the individual pill holders simply slide forward or backwards. I like that you can take just one individual days pills with you if you choose. The container that holds the individual days pill containers is not awkward, but it's not small either, it's approx. 5.75" wide (which includes the hinges and the clasp) and 10" long x approx. 1.75" high. The individual containers are approx. 1 3/8" tall, 1.75" wide and almost 5" long. This box is white on the bottom, and pale aqua on the top that is see through as are the individual daily containers just as pictured. I'm impressed with this and very happy with my purchase. I would recommend it to my friends.

Not quite right...,

I LOVE the large deep compartments HOWEVER the container will open on its own and spill the contents into your backpack, purse, etc
If you take lots of pills/supplements and really don't need to run amok during the day then its a great case.. Not a good case if you are on the go at all.

Opens too easily,

I like that it has removable boxes that are easy to take with you. But the sliding top opens to easily. I have found loose pills in my bag and one time when I picked it up the wrong way, I slid the top open, sending all my pills to the floor.
It is a great idea. But it needs a snap closure for the top.

My problems with this tray are that the rounded ends and top make it very easy to spill out some of the next compartments pills into your hand and if you take pills that should not be mixed together like my grandmother, than this is not the tray for you. The other problem is that it opens too easily for my grandmother to be able to just put in her bag when she goes away to visit family, because its very likely that they will all be spilled out in her bag by the time she gets there. She has dementia and has no idea what meds are what.

This product has been a lifesaver for me. It is the ONLY medicine organizer that has removable days of the week. If I spend the night out I only have to pack 1 small pill box. This product is GREAT!!

I take supplements and pills 3 times a day and had purchased 5 different weekly organizers before I settled on this one. Finally something that could hold the 20 large capsules I take each morning with breakfast! I love it. For as much as it can hold, it is still quite compact.

This was a great idea, but faulty finalization. I liked that I could keep weekend boxes at home, while the weekday boxes would live in my purse. That worked well for a couple of days. Then, the weekday boxes started popping open when my pursed got bounced around in the car. After a few more days, the boxes started separating from eachother. The shape that was supposed to keep them locked together wore out quickly. So, if you want to use the boxes only at home on your counter, they might be fine. Or if you want to carry each day's separately, that might work too. But, I will keep them for occasional travel use.

Attractive design, but not designed for everyone,
This review is from: 2pack - Yellow 8 Compartment Pull Apart Pill Organizer (Health and Beauty)
I bought three different kinds of 7 day / 4 times of day med organizers for my folks, and this was one of them. We kept this one, but I'm still not certain it's the best one for my folks' situation. (If I'd been able to find the EZY-Dose 4 a day / Weekly in Large, which NOW Amazon has, that would have been a serious contender. We'd found the medium but its compartments were too small.)
Pros: - The pill compartments are good-sized and can hold Dad's two "horse pills" in one slot. The dividers can be rearranged, too, to make bigger slots (leaving fewer times per day). - You can take out the pill bays to take with you if you won't be home when it's time for pills, and you're not stuck carrying the whole shebang. - It has an attractive design that doesn't scream "pills!" - It is so much easier to fill than the kind with individually hinged lids. Take off their lids, and plop plop plop! Cons: - The lid of the carrier case that holds the 7 individual pill bays is colored plastic, as are the lids of the individual pill bays. That means if you have the case closed, you're looking through two layers of colored plastic to see if you've taken your pills. If you order online where you're taking a chance on the color you get, you risk getting the smokey grey. With that color, it's going to be harder to see whether the pills were taken without lifting the carrier case lid, because the two layers of colored plastic are hard to see through. (Having just had it fall out of the cabinet, I'm glad the lid was there -- the bays would have popped open if they hadn't been in a case.) The picture shown for the product on Amazon showing the aqua one shows aqua's sheerness pretty accurately. I've seen aqua, fluorescent yellow, and smokey grey in person, and the first two are very easy to see through. - If you're buying this product for a senior or someone with less manual dexterity, it may be too easy to accidentally uncover too much of a slot and dump out pills from another time frame. I told my mom to try to uncover only half the slot she needed so she wouldn't accidentally get pills from the next time slot. - If you're buying this for a senior or someone with less mental dexterity, the lack of labelling may be confusing. I wish they'd provided labels to stick in the bays to help with when pills get taken. I lined the bottoms of the bays with strips of papers on which I'd written the times each set gets taken.

Med Sun® 7 Day Medication Planner
NOTE: This item is NOT what is pictured in the photo! PRICE: On clearance for $6 at Target stores; online prices seem to run double that (plus shipping). PROS: * There's an individual case for each day, so it's easy to take along just what you need for a day or a weekend. * The days are color-coded as well as labeled in English, Spanish and braille. * Each daily case has 3 removable dividers for creating up to 4 sections. * When divided into 4 sections, each is approx 1" x 1" x 1" -- more than big enough for several large pills. * The box which holds all 7 daily cases seems sturdy, as does its latch. * One of the color options is pink, and I love pink! CONS: * The sliding lid of each daily case is perhaps too easy to slide. If bumped around too much in a purse or briefcase, it sometimes slides open. (To be safe, I carry it in an interior pocket of my purse.) * Most online sellers send a randomly chosen color, so it's possible to get a color you dislike. BOTTOM LINE: This pill organizer is great for people who take a lot of very large pills, either Rx or dietary supplements, and who want to be able to take just a day's worth "to go". If you take only a couple of pills or only very small pills, this would be over-kill. |
