Epoxy Coated,

These screws are coated with Evercote®, an epoxy resin that's resistant to rust and many chemicals, including that copper stuff in treated wood, as per what I found on the internet. Although I use them for building outdoor furniture, they are not intended for structural applications or railing supports. Since they are so long I pre-drill my 2x4s because I only use scrap wood; to keep them from splitting. I have always used deck screws for my outdoor projects and I have had no failures. I usually use hot dipped screws; they bind up when overheated. These epoxy types slide in without overheating.So,why don't I just buy good lumber and stainless steel screws? Because I like to recycle and I am cheap. I straighten out bent nails, so you know I will pinch a nickle until the buffalo farts. Maybe the next review will be by a Professional who can comment on their intended use - decking.
