I got this because because I've become a big Coachwhips fan, I was pretty shocked at the acoustic gig I heard (as opposed to the chaos kick of the coachwhips rig). But surprising is good, and while, at times, some of the soundscaping work of 3 & 4 gets a bit too abrasive for my tastes, for the most part it adds to the haunting calls of Dwyers home-made mics (supposedly made from stolen hotel phones). The album has a kind of far away, soothing, drown-distortion feel, almost of the vein of My Bloody Valentine, if I may be so bold; except more folky art hound than indie sound engineer.

John Dwyer (Pink and Brown, the Coachwhips) never ceases to amaze me. More experimental lo-fi accoustic extreme oddness. Like a ho down being held in the shack out back of the Mars Probe. The most perfect overstoned three am chill out record in the world. Was that a saw? I think I just creamed my jeans.
