5.0 out of 5 stars excellent gaming microphone
This is my favorite clip-on microphone, and I've done side by side tests with 3 other $5-20 clip-on microphones. The other ones tend to sound tinny, or lack pickup. This one is clearly the best. In a twist of fate, it's also the cheapest. I did have one problem with it, when the plastic "pin" that holds together the clip hinge popped out. It took quite a bit of dexterity...

1.0 out of 5 stars Good news, but mostly bad news...
The good news is, the mic I received was inexpensive & not DOA like some experienced. The bad news is, it's basically useless. I plugged it into my netbook, put the record settings on as high as they can go, launched Audacity...and basically had to yell into the mic to get anything to record. Forget any thoughts of clipping it on to my collar, since it had to be almost...

It took quite a bit of dexterity to get the pin back in to reassmble it. If not, I would have replaced the pin with a $0.50 screw and nut from the hardware store.

In fact, this is my favorite microphone to use even when price is no option. I've tried a number of headsets, cheap and expensive. Some over the head, some behind the head, some foldable for travel. I found ALL of them uncomfortable for long periods of time doing voice-gaming. I wear glasses, and the constant headphone pressure pushing my ears around the earhook of my glasses eventually hurts no matter what the headset is like. For a while I was just setting an around-the-back headset on my shoulders and using a separate set of earbuds for sound, but I realized a clip-on mic would be easier.... voila... Enjoy.

Works great with the Nikon D300s but you must set the microphone volume to its lowest setting. Also if you clip it on your collar it tends to overload the camera input; just clip it around your shirt pocket and everthing is really good.

Add me to the list of those getting a dead one.... It was completely dead on arrival. And, for this price, not worth the time to return to Amazon. Lesson learned. When there are almost as many one-star reviews as four and fives: Stay away!

Product is useless, unless it is accompanied with a high impedence amplifier, which is not identified.

This microphone works perfectly with my laptop. I tried to use them with my sound mixer, but they do not produce enough power to provide a usable signal. I'm buying a wireless set up to connect them as a result of that.

When I received the microphone it was exactly was I wanted, but it would not work. I tried it on 3 different computers & never a peep out of it.

I ordered 4 of these for a sound localization experiment and 4 out of the 4 where dead. Don't waste your time with these. You don't even get what you paid for.

When I first got it in the mail, It was in a little box. No directions, So I couldnt tell if it was on or off. So I plugged it into My Camera. No sound whatsoever. Fell apart easily. Threw it in the Garbage. I would of given it 0 stars. Dont buy this product, save your money.
