Ater MJNC367's info and advice, I purchased 3. Love them! I keep them plugged in all the time like an audio jack dust protector for Galaxy tab, iPad, and iPod. I repeatedly switch from headsets, car aux, home/work PC so I'd rather replace this adaptor instead the device. Beautiful sound with cheap and pricey headsets/earphones... CAVEAT...sound is distorted with headsets with microphones and some volume controls. Highly recommend.

I have used many types of audio/video adapters, connecters, and cables over the years. I Always use Gold plated due to it's immunity to corrosion. We've all had the problems of lost connections, poor connections, and static (especially with headphones;right?).

These issues most commonly occur with regular cheap steel tipped connections. I have a few of them in right angle like this, but in steel. And I hate them; you know, static issues. These have been been hard to find in gold; in good quality that is.

This gold plated one from amazon is first rate quality. The plastic is thick and well molded.
I especially like that it very low profile.

LISTEN UP COMPUTER PEOPLE! ---> If you plug a straight plug device (headphones?) into your laptop, and then bump or hit the plug with something. You can break the socket in the computer causing severe emotional and $$$$$ pain. I've seen it happen. This connector will prevent that and give you static free sound. It is available in Black or white on amazon.

This is the best connector of it's type I've seen in my lifetime; and I'm old!
Thanks for reading.I hope my review helps someone in making a buying decision.

Fits in my iPhone 4S perfectly and transfers the music signal to my car without interference. Swivels so not to tangle the attached cable.

This jack completely degrades headphone sound. It also disables the sound adjustment function on the headphone cord. Would not order this again.

Update: Issue is connector from headphones to the adapter. If pushed in all the way the connection is not proper; need to push connector in until sound is good. Something amiss with headphones and with adapter but can be accommodated. Minor annoyance.

I actually thought this was going to work out for my needs. I was using this to add a 90 degree bend to a mic input on a digital recorder. At first it seemed fine. For headphones it worked just fine, at least with all the ones I tested it with.

The problem came when I started testing putting light pressure on the jack. Unfortunately, this caused all my mics to "pop" and basically made it significantly less reliable than just running the 3.5mm jack into the recorder directly. I'll probably use this somewhere where it won't get bumped around but sadly, mine was just too loose on the inside that it did not keep a reliable connection.

If you're thinking about using this for a microphone, especially mission critical or somewhere it might get bumped...I'd consider another option

The plugs have worked well. I bought them as a stress relief for the headphone and source cables to my mini-amp and to avoid wear and tear on the amp jacks and so far, they have worked troublefree.

Used to expand the IR for a wall mounted 55" LCD mounded on the wall. The mount sits the tv very close to the wall so the 90 degree adapter worked great to redirect the 3.5 mm plug
