This is a fantastic soundtrack. It is filled with some excellent jazz and the moment you hear it you think of the movie! So if you enjoy the film...get the soundtrack...you will not regret it!

Sophisticated Funk,

Truly funky and also sophisticated. The title track is great and so is the rest. Only complaint is the two tracks-Silver Bells and I Got You Where I Want You, that sound erroneous when played with the others.

Great Orchestral Jazz/Funk Soundtrack,
By Rob Keil (San Francisco) - See all my reviews

This is one of the best 1970s soundtracks I've ever heard. Makes me think Grusin could do pretty much anything. Really well arranged, composed, and performed. The recording quality is also excellent. Lots of cool 1970s touches like Fender Rhodes, funky backbeats, and a big string section. Listenable, but also varied and interesting enough for repeated listenings, making it better than many soundtracks from this era. I actually enjoy this CD more than the classic "Shaft" soundtrack that essentially started this genre a few years earlier. I only wish I could find more records like this one.
