I had been considering the Vtech LS6125-3 but decided to delay as I believed an updated model would soon come to market. Well, this is it...the LS6225-3. I ordered it as soon as it became available on Amazon and I still had to wait more than a month for the order to fill, as Vtech had not yet begun shipping the product. Finally received it last week and this new model is well worth the wait.

Very clean minimalist appearance with a feature-rich menu that I found to be intuitive. I did not need to refer to the owner's manual to set it up. The sound is crystal-clear with a very strong interference-free signal. I especially like the fact that the base unit antenna and the handset antennae are completely internal...not even a stub. The base unit uses touch pad technology - no buttons. Any handset can access messages from the answering machine...no more requirement to access them from the base unit. Intercom, conference call and call transfer functions are simple and straightforward. Handset backlighting is good with all keys easily readable.

We are very satisfied with this unit and the only reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 is because as advanced as it is, the base unit has no battery back-up in the event of a power failure. Once the power returns, one must reenter the date/time. It's not difficult and all other memory settings remain intact, but it simply should not be necessary. Aside from that little nit, I recommend this new model unit without reservation.

Lets face it, the phone is really nice looking. Has all the bling you could ever want - slim modern design, digital output, phonebook, a variety of ringers, easy set up. My only issue with it is that the volume cannot be adjusted higher. At its highest output level, I have to strain to hear who is on the other side of the call. They should have given the user a wider volume output so that the user can adjust as he/she sees fit. Other than that, it is a nice phone, but it is a bummer when you can't hear the other person on the phone!

I love these phone sets. I've bought two of them. Because I live next door to a radio station, I can never get good reception on any phone, and these are no exception, but since the batteries went out, I went ahead and upgraded to the latest, better model, hoping that maybe something would improve. It's not the fault of the phone. HOWEVER, the batteries on BOTH sets of these phones lasted about one month. I was really annoyed, but when I went to the website to look at replacing the batteries, I was really, really unhappy. THE BATTERIES COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE PHONES. That did it. I wrote to them: Your phones rock, your batteries suck. Need I say I never got a response? Buyer, beware.

Ease of setup. Fantastic sound quality and distance-from-base-unit of operation. Minor issue for me is the plastic display screen is easy to get scratched or 'marred-up'. I placed the cut-to-size screen protectors(like for a handheld touch-screen device) on all of my handsets after discovering this issue. Overall, a fantastic product!!!

This is my second Vtech DECT 6.0 purchase. The first was a single handset, so when I needed to expand my system I came back to Vtech.
There may be others out there with more bells and whistles, but for me, Vtech has everything I need in a landline phone.
My only wish for improvement would be longer battery life.

Phone looks and works great, tha sound quality is also great. I only have a few complaints. I can't put my calls in private and there is no headset jack. I don't know if it matters, but I'm using mine with Vonage.

Still getting used to my new phone, but it works great. My family loves it sleek design. The only concern I had is, it didn't come with a DSL filter. Thus I had to look through the manual to figure out why there was so much static on the line. Once I installed that, it works great.

We're really impressed by this phone: it looks sleek and works great. It has a great signal, and doesn't interfere with our wireless network. We wish that there was a speakerphone in the base... but other than that, it's pretty much perfect!

This is a nice phone. We went to Best Buy and found a couple of models we liked before buying. I looked for weight, size & style. I didn't want something that felt hollow & cheap and didn't go from my ear to my mouth..I have a cell for for that :). This met all 3 criteria, HOWEVER; I could kick myself for not noticing at BB that there is no earphone jack because I NEVER sit with a phone to my ear. I'm always puttering around while I'm on the phone, earpiece in, clipped to my side....household chores and such, so this was a HUGE con for me & why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Also, no battery backup. I have had to reset the date/time on it twice, without having lost power, so I don't know if it's THAT sensitive that a power surge will undo the clock -if that's even what happened. To me, those are 2 basic features ---hands-free ability & battery backup--- that I guess I assumed all phones today have. Not everyone likes blue tooth. There was a Vtech phone with blue tooth, but I didn't want it because of prior experience.
Anyway, if those 2 things are unimportant to you, then this is a really nice phone. It's predecessor was an AT&T which I assumed would be of higher quality, but was in fact a piece of crap, from construction to sound. The sound alone on this phone is worth the 4 stars. That's why I didn't return it..I looked on Vtech's website and didn't see one that featured the jack...just a blue tooth one, so this will do. I do have an old Panasonic with those features that I use if I'm going to be on the phone for any length of time.

This is a good-looking and sleek phone that does the job, but not much more.

The good:
The DECT 6.0 works well with clear sound.
Range turns out to be better than the 5.8Ghz phone that it replaced.
Battery life turns out to be good, we'll see how that holds up over time.
It looks more expensive than it it. Most other phones (e.g. panasonic, Uniden) are eyesores.

The bad:
Feature-wise this is a very basic phone. Of the many phones that I've had in the past 10 years, this one has the fewest features and fewest menu items. It does what it needs to do.
Handset cannot be given a name like 'kitchen', or 'bedroom', so when using the intercom you'll need to guess.
The ringtones options are some simple beeps that would have impressed me in 1980, but not in 2009.
The handsets do not stand stand very steadily in the charger cradle. The phone easily flips over forward.

The ugly:
The biggest issue of the phone is the absence of any battery backup. Pull the plug out of the base station and you'll lose not only the time and date but also any messages. Uniden does a much better job at that.
