5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Cooking Novices
I'm not a great cook, and that's why I love my slow cooker. It doesn't require a great chef to make edible food. But, the only recipes for my slow cooker that I could find involved pouring Campbells Cream Soup over meat, and I was getting sick of it. This cookbook offers a wide variety of simple recipes, and so far they are delicious. I think I'll be ordering the...

Granted, this is a 3-Ingredient book, so I suppose one can't expect too much from the recipes. Regardless, I was surprised that some of the recipes include nothing but a can of cream of ___ soup and a can of vegetables or something similar. There are a handful of good ideas in this book mostly having to do with chicken (whole and in pieces) and a few beef or pork cuts...

I checked this out from our library to use while our kitchen was being remodeled and the slow cooker was the only appliance we could use for family meals. My husband is a meat eater, I'm a vegetarian, and my son has food allergies. This book has enough creative and healthy recipes to satisfy us all- Chicken Tikka Masala, Curried Chick Peas and Spinach, Tomato and Salmon Chowder were some of our favorites. I returned the copy to the library and purchased one for myself knowing it will get lots of use long after our kitchen is back in order.

Back many moons ago I cooked a great deal with the original Rival crock pot, I recently decided to get back into it, I love so many aspect of slow cooking, the least of it being that fabulous aroma that permeates your house, So, I bought a slew of slow cooker recipe books, and so far this is the only one I can heartedly recommend, I am on a limited diet due to my odd array of health problems. So finding recipes that I can use is no easy trick, I have to avoid onion, garlic, tomato,,,,,,,,to name a few, Although this cookbook isn't perfect, it does offer a terrific assortment of recipes that are simple and delicious, It's a winner, I hope the Hildebrands do more.

There are a handful of good ideas in this book mostly having to do with chicken (whole and in pieces) and a few beef or pork cuts but otherwise I think I'd be happier with a subscription to a magazine that had some slow cooker recipes in it on occasion. I wouldn't buy the book again.
