What a great way to get launched into classic Bette. Not only is this set an amazingly good price but you get three essential but very disverse examples of what Bette The Singer can do !

The set includes her debut for Atlantic Records, the RIAA Platinum selling album 'The Divine Miss M' which includes her hit single of the Andrew Sisters classic 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy'. This cut on whole is a very soulful Bette singing to very simplistic 1970s backing...

Then we jump to the soundtrack 'Beaches' from her massively successful movie role. This CD was equally as popular becoming RIAA 3xPlatinum certified in the US alone, it also features the Grammy Award winnging 'Wind beneath my wings' which won Record of the Year in 1989, and was also nominated for Song of the Year in 1989 ! This song also became a Top 10 single world-wide !

Finally, from the more cabaret feel of a soundtrack to a polished studio album which she released in 1990, her first for 7 years ! 'Some People's Lives' was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA and contains some fabulous pop songs as well as some lavishly orchestrated ballads which still reminisce of her early days and soulful/jazzy roots with songs like 'Miss Otis Regrets'. However, inspirational ballads like 'From a distance' shine through here, this smash single was also nominated at the Grammy's as Song of the Year in 1990.

Next stop buy 'Experience the Divine G.H. [IMPORT]'. This CD is different to the domestic US release and with extra tracks is soooo divine !

Even the "old" fans of Miss Midler should have this one. She never disapoints.
