Only worked somewhat for my VERY stubborn OCD dog,

This product seemed to work at first, but after while she seemed to eat it anyway, at least a little. I do feel that for less OCD dogs or puppies, that this product might work great. For right now we are trying other ideas that I found online.1) We are feeding her twice a day, instead of once. 2) We are giving her a multi-vitamin. 3) We are following her around outside & yelling "Leave It." It's getting old, but we are hoping to do it for an extended time, and hopefully break her of it. I wish she would just find a hobby, like lizard chasing or knitting! We are considering a muzzle for her to wear for short periods of time, to get the dog door opened back up and give us a break from having to go outside with her all the time. It is a frustrating problem, and I wish all you Searchers the Best!

Bought this product to give to cat (it's one of few listed as safe for them) to help correct poop eating dogs habit. While dog has quit following the cat around the yard waiting for her to take a dump, she still searches the flower bed for more "Treats".

Forbid did not work on our full grown German Shepherd, who has had this nasty habit for a few months. Adding pineapple and spinach (at totally different times) didn't work either. Slowing down her eating by adding a Kong ball to her food dish has seemed to help so far.

After trying many other products my vet suggested I to give forbid a try. I purchased the first few pkts from my vet, but it is much cheaper online. If all else fails, give this a try. I am so happy I did

This seller ships fast and the product is the only thing I've found which keeps my dog from snacking from the cat's litter box. 2 grams a day in the cat's food and the dog doesn't want anything to do with it.

Not worth the money or the effort,

I tried this product in hopes that it would keep my dogs from eating frozen poopsicles- no luck. At all. Really - nothing- not a bit of difference. Each dog never even skipped a beat. I did exactly as the packaging said and they all continued to eat their frozen treasures. Not worth the money in my opinion. Maybe a higher dose would be better, but not willing to spend double the money to find out.

Having 7 rescued dogs, but only 1 with this disgusting, nasty habit, I was at my wits end with her. As clean as I keep my yard, this gal can find the tiniest scrap and then reacts as if she found filet mignon. Gross. I tried this product as a last ditch effort after testing for vitamin deficiency, boredom, medical problem, etc. I followed the instructions: 5-6 days first attempt and gave it to all 7 dogs, even though her own waste holds no interest for her. (I thought if it worked and she didn't want the other 6, she'd resort to her own, so I gave it to all 7). One got such an upset tummy and diarrhea from it that she would barf, her tummy would make awful noises, she needed to go out almost every 2 hours round the clock, and she was lethargic. (Thank goodness first attempt was only 5-6 days). When that didn't work, I tried it again a few weeks later (according to the instructions: 2-3 weeks) and this time went for broke: 3 weeks. (With 7 dogs, you know how expensive that was). Saturday (7/11/09) was final day. Today is Monday, 7/13 and I deliberately did not clean yard as the 'kids' went outside after their morning meal. Well, she thought she landed in Xanadu! She hasn't seen this much poo in weeks, all in one place in the yard. I couldn't keep up with her with the poo scooper in my hand. It didn't work, was way too expensive, messy finely ground powder that 'poofs' everywhere when attempting to split into 2 daily doses. Aside from the upset tummy and the diarrhea it caused in one of the other 'kids', it was a waste of time and lots of money. I'll just go back to cleaning the yard every time one of them goes out. Aside from keeping the yard clear of waste, I get a lot more exercise! Perhaps she has too serious a habit - came to me with this at age 2. Maybe if someone had dealt with it at a younger age, but she's a rescue Greyhound, like the other 6, so I doubt the tracks cared or even noticed. Maybe she didn't get enough food at the track as she was not a good racer, so she developed this habit out of hunger...God only knows. I just know this product did not work for her and with the side effects one of the other gals experienced, I was greatly disappointed.

Dogs with a dirty habit,

My puppy is a 1 1/2 yr. old golden retriever. He has always had the horrible habit of eating his you know what. Nothing (and I mean nothing) has stopped him from consuming his own excrement. I have gone through 4 boxes of For-Bid and he is still doing his nasty habit. This is a dog that is obsessed with eating his BM and I don't think anything will help. My vet recommended For-Bid (twice). This is our second go around.

Used ForBid for a week 2xday on all my dogs, including the ones who eat poop and those that do not.Absolutlely NO positive results. The poop eaters continued to eat the poop; the others did not. In fact, one of the dogs enjoyed the poops more than ever!! Totally and completely useless product!! |
