Would recommend it to all potty training moms.
Joseline M. Graves
Our toilet is a little tall so he had to use a stool to step onto the step and it kept moving.
Lynn M. Grumbling
It is not stable at all and doesn't fasten in anyway to the toilet.

After reading some of the reviews I was not sure if this was a good product. All reviews for this type of potty seat are about the same. All of them have a little wiggle room and they need to be placed on rim of toilet not seat to work the best. I have a rambunctious 2 1/2yr old and this works fine for him. I told him to hold on and dont jump or move around to much and he does excellent. He loved it right away out of the box. Good colors to make it look like a toy and then the comfort of not thinking he was going to fall in was all he needed to start goin on toilet. Wish I had bought this seat before all the other crappy ones I got. The 3-in-1 feature is awesome and there really is no need for other seats. Only caution and why not 5 stars is that the rim in the front could be just a inch or so higher every once in a while urine can get over edge but we are just working on holding it down and that really works fine.

I haven't actually tried other products like this, so I can't confirm this is a flaw in all similar units, but based on the other reviews it seems like they all have the same defect, which is that they're unstable.

It appears to me that this particular unit could be easily addressed by the manufacturer though. The four rubber feet on the underside of the seat are flush with the rest of the seat lip, meaning that there isn't enough contact between the seat and the rim of the toilet (yes, the toilet seats are up) to make a sturdy grip. As an experiment, I took four squares of foam (like the kind you line a drawer with or put under a slippery rug) and placed it under each of the feet. Bingo! Sturdy potty seat. So if this had just a little more rubber, or even better a U of grippers, then it would be very stable on the toilet. I'll probably just hot-glue those four squares of rubber onto the feet to make the fix permanent.

The other area where it is unstable is on the two feet that touch the floor. Again, the pegs under the feet don't provide much grip, and to make things worse there is a slight curve to the bottom of the feet that leave them useless to grip the floor in any way. I had less success with the added foam there. To keep the whole seat stable during the mount-dismount process, I keep my foot on the bottom bar. No biggie. And by the time she's ready to use the potty without assistance, hopefully she'll be practiced enough with this to be able to keep it steady on her own.

The final 'con' to this is how easily the arm-leg units loosen up from the seat. When my daughter is sitting down, she rocks the arms up and down, which makes the seat wiggle. I tighten them up, and then two visits to the potty later they're loose again.

Okay so this is actually the second one of these I bought. First I bought the one called "Mommy's Helper Contoured Cushie Step Up" here on Amazon and we loved it so much I went and got this one for another potty in our house. Big mistake- I definitely should've stuck with the first one link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AV5LZ8/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_title

VS:
This one- all plastic and you have to put EVERY piece together... it "screws" together with an included tool and you can never quite line it up right or get it tight enough. The entire thing is plastic and uncomfortable- no cushie seat and no grips on the feet.

Mommy's Helper: A few simple snaps and you are good to go- it is already mostly assembled. The seat has a cushion so it is more comfortable for them to sit there (important when they sit there for what seems like hours when they potty train)and it has nice grips on the feet.

This one keeps coming "unscrewed" and literally falling apart when my daughter climbs up it- once she hit her face off of the toilet because of it. Please PLEASE save yourself the trouble and the money. The other is the SAME Price and a MUCH better quality.

I bought this seat and loved it for my youngest daughter. It was great because it works as a stand alone potty and then morphs into a step up potty. I thought it was unstable at first on the potty, but then I realized that I needed to lift the seat up and have it directly on the flat part of the toilet. Made a HUGE difference. My daughter loves being able to use the big potty by herself, and I love not having to hoist her up everytime.

We bought this for my grand daughter and it did not fit properly on our toilets, so we didn't use it. Was unstable and made the baby afraid to sit on it,

It's bright and colorful, folds nicely for storage when not in use, and made potty training fun and easy for my independent son, who was able to get up and down on his own. I've recommended this product to several friends.
