Review

"Short of taking an MBA direction itself, this book offers a solid substitute... Any business library - and many a general interest lending library - needs this." - Midwest Book Review

5.0 out of 5 stars Good overview of an International MBA, September 27, 2011
If your want to find out what goes on in Business Schools beyond Harvard and Wharton, then this is the book for you, though they are covered too. IMD, in Lausanne, CEIBS (China Europe International Business School), INSEAD in France, IESE in Spain, LBS (London Business School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Antai College of Economics & Management (ACEM)are amongst the world's best B Schools whose syllabi are tapped into to compile this book. Case examples are drawn from global businesses such as Unilver, Societé Générale, and Tata Motors as well as established US firms including Facebook, Google and Dell.
For anyone who wants to know a bit more about what goes on in business schools that lie beyond the US coastline, as well as a what goes on within, this is an excellent primer.

Now in a completely updated and expanded second edition, Colin Barrow's "The 30 Day MBA: Your Fast Track Guide to Business Success" is a 312-page instruction manual based upon twelve fundamental disciplines that provide the foundation for modern MBA programs. The focus is upon identifying and explaining key tools and concepts for assessing business situations and decisions. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good information. Examples are mostly British., March 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The 30 Day MBA: Learn the Essential Top Business School Concepts, Skills and Language Whilst Keeping Your Job and Your Cash (Paperback)
The author did a good job providing a lot of information in a small space. The only drawback I found is most of the examples use the British Pound rather than the dollar. Being unfamilair with how many Shillings per Pound, etc, it was a little cumbersome to read. However, the divisions of disciplines and well written overview of each subject make this a great reference book.
