This review is from: 30 Exitos, Vol. 2: Pedro Infante (Audio CD)
This CD captivates the best of Pedro Infante. My father, a huge Pedro Infante fan, absolutely loved this Father's Day present.

This review is from: 30 Exitos, Vol. 2: Pedro Infante (Audio CD)
Before you listen to this disc take one thing into consideration, this is music from a different era and hence should reflect the times including the technology. Sure it would be nice to hace these tapes sweetened but then they wouldn't be authentic. The primitive sound of the disc on certain tracks is attributable to the fact that these are recordings from the movies Infante starred in, not exactly a perfect sound studio. If one listens carefully one can even hear the ambient sounds on the stage like a train in the background, other stage members walking and talking, animal hooves or the dancing feet of others on the set. This is pure Pedro Infante doing what he did best, acting and singing. Now for the particulars, the music is an amazing collection of historical recordings from the golden era of Mexican film. Who can resist Infante's treatment of "Mil Amores," the "galan" of his era bragging of his desire for all women comparing them to flowers and him the gardener. Or how about "Grito Prisonera," where he opens by declaring that he has a desire to shout "te quiero" because he can't keep his love quiet anymore. I could go on about individual songs but there are just too many, 30 classic songs for you pleasure. Infante was a matinee idol who melted hearts and gave lovers the fuel to keep their flames glowing. Just as comfortable with boleros or romantic songs Infante could out Mariachi the best of them when he whipped into a ranchera complete with whistles and gritos. The double disc is full of magic, classic tunes penned by Jose Alfredo,Esperon y Cortazar, Chucho Monge and Agustin Lara. This is a collection of classic songs, a literal poporrui of Mexican folklore and culture on one double disc. These are the songs of our forefathers, preserved in their original form with integrity for posterity. If you close you eyes you can see the image of Infante flickering in black and white amidst the corny sets singing his songs of love with mariachi horns blarring in the distance. An excellent choice for a gift for that member of your family who cherishes nostalgia. Even though the sound hasn't been sweetened I would still recommend this disc for what it is, a pure and simple sound bite from old Mexico. BTW, the songs listed here are incorrect and not the songs on this disc, the ones listed are from another disc entitled "Jorge Negrete Y Pedro Infante".

for Pedro Infante ORFEON is not recommended,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: 30 Exitos, Vol. 2: Pedro Infante (Audio CD)
Although ORFEON carries quality artists at an extremely quality price it does not mean it has its downfalls. I don't think Pedro Infante EVER recorded for ORfeon. Hence the quality of ORFEON is BAD for an artist like Pedro Infante. So what label is recommended? PEERLESS. For Pedro Infante always go to PEERLESS. I buy ORFEON only for artist like Bribiesca or los tecolines. NOT Infante. The sound is BAD. I think ORFFEON owns the copyright for the music of his movies. And not even all his movies. one star for carrying the name Pedro infante.

Someone as talented as Pedro Infante deserves more attention to the digital remix of his songs. The sound is scratchy and tinny.
