More About the Author

Hello Everyone! My name is Pamela Kazmierczak and I am an author of several nonfiction books. The majority of my books are cookbooks, as I love to cook for my husband and my two children, and I wanted to share the recipes with other busy people out there. I also publish other non fiction books about topics that interest me as well.

Overall this is not a bad cookbook, but the recipes were very basic. For example, It offered lasagne, where the only change between this recipe and a not gluten free one is that the noodle she called for were gluten free. It did not really give me ideas on new things to try, just took basic recipes and changed only the obvious like pasta or batter to gluten free. Although I am sure these recipes are good, they just did not seem very innovative.

I have had a look through and the recipes look really good. I haven't tried them yet but am looking forward to it. The recipes will be good for everyone even if you don't need gluten free

Being on a gluten free diet I found a lot of good recipes to try to add to the items I am able to eat.

I think this book is the result of the author merely finding a few classic recipes online that were already GLUTEN FREE (or had an ingredient that they could tell you to use a GF version of it, no info on where to find that ingredient or how to make it) and then cutting and pasting them into this collection! And, they aren't meals really, just main dishes. There are 2 items, rice and beans and a risotto that could be side dishes, but seem to be presented as main dishes not as side dishes. There are recipes for any kind of breads/rolls, or condiments or deserts, or anything to make what is usually considered a MEAL. I thought there would at least be 30 MENUS for a meal each.

There is not one single recipe for anything that is a challenge to make in a GF form, like really good pizza - or any "baked goods" either..

A typical example is that for meatloaf, this just a regular recipe which says to use GF bread crumbs - duh. Most everything is meat and of course, MEAT is always GF when you cook using plain meat

Just about any website, or other book, dedicated to Gluten Free info and recipes will FAR OUTSHINE this recipe (not MEALS) collection!.

recipes were "dull" and too normal for my taste. Used boxed products, dairy and was not within my life style.

I've talked to people about gluten free foods and I've learned that gluten may be what was making my allergies worse. I've read and tried a few recipes in 30 Gluten Free Meals and found they are recipes that can be cooked quickly and many of them are cooked in one pot. That makes clean-up so easy. Some of the recipes call for gluten free ingredients, but many of them call for ingredients I have on hand or can buy in my regular grocery market. I'm learning that gluten is something I don't need and I've also noticed how much better I feel. With all the additives that go into our foods, and the processing it goes through, it is nice to find recipes that get back to the basics - like when life was simpler.

I was hoping for a more informative gluten free cookbook that gave maybe substitution ideas for foods that generally have gluten in them. However this book mostly deals with foods that are already naturally gluten free like meats. Those are already pretty easy to alter gluten content if using in recipes.
