When I first went Paleo, I’d give in to temptation all the time. Every afternoon, I’d walk through Walgreens blindly hoping to find something gluten-free and Paleo to eat. After 20 minutes of useless searching, I’d usually end up buying some random treat that was completely non-Paleo!




I would tell myself that I would only eat one cookie, but while sitting in my office for the next couple hours, I wouldn’t stop until the entire packet was gone. It's hardly surprising that I felt tired, grumpy, and bloated for days afterward. Giving in to temptation certainly didn’t help me lose weight, either. And worst of all, I'd end up wanting to eat even more junk!




You Have a Choice. Eat Better Desserts.



It's taken me years to figure out how to escape that vicious cycle. I started by learning to make a variety of Paleo desserts and treats that were both delicious and made me feel better. It took me a long time, though, to figure out exactly which Paleo ingredients actually worked well as substitutes. I went through much experimentation (many desserts were outright failures - some even explodes!) and much taste-testing (always the fun part).




Most importantly, though, I perfected all of my recipes so that they're super fast, use easy-to-find & common Paleo ingredients, are low in Paleo sugars, and still taste absolutely amazing!




I've spent the time and effort over the years figuring everything out and perfecting these desserts, which is why I'm sure you'll enjoy these 30-minute Paleo dessert recipes!

The Paleolithic diet (also known as the Stone Age diet or hunter-gatherer diet) is characterized by its reliance on whole unprocessed foods. The foundation of the Paleo diet is plenty of meat, seafood, vegetables, and some fruit, nuts, seeds, and starches. In her book of Paleo desserts, author Louise Hendon emphasizes three points for those who think that all desserts are bad for you:

1. These desserts will make you feel better, not worse.
2. These desserts can be prepared in thirty minutes or less.
3. Every recipe has been thoroughly tested.

She states that all the ingredients in the recipes are natural, nontoxic, and nutritious. After describing some of the Paleo ingredients used in the recipes, and the necessary cooking equipment, the dessert recipes are presented. I have to say that they do look and sound tasty. The color photography of the desserts is gorgeous. My only issue with the book is the lack of nutritional information. I would like to have seen at a minimum the number of calories, including protein, carbohydrates, and fat; and dietary fiber per serving.

For me, I love desserts, but I don't like to eat or bake desserts that contain sugar and other unhealthy ingredients. So when I discovered this superb and EASY TO USE cookbook, I was over the moon! Still am over the moon because these recipes call for common ingredients (that I have on hand) and are simple to prepare.
All of the recipes in this book look great in my opinion, however, the ones that are my favorites are:

+ Chocolate Brownies - This has Coconut oil in it and is great because I love cooking with Coconut oil. Also, this recipe uses muffin tins (with cupcake liners) for easy serving. This recipe is so wonderful that it is the ONLY recipe for brownies that I plan to use now.

+ No Bake Apple Pie - What I love about this recipe is that it calls for small ramekins and it has 2 servings which can easily be doubled for a family of four for dessert! The recipe has Coconut Oil and raw chopped apples and nuts. This makes this recipe tasty, very much so, simple to make and also so healthy to eat!

+ Pineapple Mango Banana Sorbet - This is so easy to make and healthy!

+ 2 Ingredient Pancake (Banana and 1 egg) - This is so easy to make. But I tripled the recipe as I like 3 of these at once! This is for me, a mini meal or a great in between meal snack as well as a superb dessert!

Highly recommend this cookbook to anyone who loves easy to prepare and tasty desserts!

The recipes in this recipe book are so healthy and use such good-quality, fresh ingredients! The instructions are so simple - perfect for someone like me who loves to make messes in the kitchen but has no patience for long, complicated recipes.

One of the best things about these recipes is that I have all the ingredients for almost all of the recipes in my fridge and cupboards right at this moment. I won't need to spend a lot of extra time or money buying ingredients that I have no use for besides that specific recipe, which I always appreciate.

I'm more of a fruity dessert kind of person as opposed to a chocolate-y kind, and the Mango Ginger Coconut Ice Cream combines some of my favorite things - I think that's the next one I going to try. My boyfriend loves chocolate, though, so I am looking forward to making the truffle bonus recipe for him for Christmas. (It's so easy, I love it.) He's going to love it with some nice red wine!

I have quite a few paleo cookbooks, but none that cover the how-to's regarding baking. One of the things I like most about this book is that the author lays out baking techniques (I'm not a baker - at all) that can be applied to a multitude of recipes. Desserts are the one thing I missed when I went paleo and this book gives me that back. Thank you Louise!

I am a huge Paleo/Whole9 eater and this book is fantastic! Not only does Louise give some truly amazing recipes, she also gives you good options for purchasing the ingredients, which is a huge help! Eating Paleo does not have to mean it has to taste bad. She shows you how to do make mouth-water desserts. This book is worth every cent you spend on it! So excited I now have an entire recipe book for desserts! :-)

Louise has out done herself this time. She has put together a book that will keep you smiling. Eating healthy is sometimes like taking unflavored cough syrup when you were younger. Louise has described each recipe and with her photos, allows us a goal to accomplish. The finished product is wonderful and delicious. Louise has allowed us to make eating healthy fun.
