I've read a number of books on suffering. Most of them try to answer the big questions raised by other people's suffering. This is one of the few I would give to someone really in the midst of trials. In 61 short pages, Mike Aquilina takes on the mystery of human suffering and the paradoxically beautiful Christian response to it. But this is no dry theoretical discussion. He also gives profound and practical wisdom on how to respond to suffering and allow it to be an occasion for good and even for rejoicing.
