Customer Reviews

Very absorbent and soft.

If you tend to drag your feet it may come with you a bit, but it is easy enough to fix with your toes while in down dog.

I would recommend to buy it if you need good towel and do not want to spend a lot of money.

As an avid hot power yogi, I, like so many other people have been on a seemingly endless search for a towel that not only stays put and allows me to stay put but is also affordable. I fell into the Yogitoes trap. Everyone had one in my classes so I jumped on the band wagon. It took me weeks of washing it to get it to stop running in the wash (partly my fault for buying the black one, when I knew it would run from reading other peoples reviews, I just thought it would stop)and streaking on my mat where my hands and feet spent the majority of their time. I practice up to four times a week so I was still switching off between it and my regular old beach towel. I knew I wanted another towel, but I was less than thrilled with the results from my Yogitoes and even less thrilled with the price. It was better than the beach towel but it wasn't so great that I wanted 4 more. I searched around, read reviews and found the YogaRat Microfiber towel. At half the price I had to try it. I was so happy with this purchase. No annoying running of the colors, excellent absorbing ability, and even without the Yogitoes nubs, it really doesn't move much AND half the price! If you tend to drag your feet it may come with you a bit, but it is easy enough to fix with your toes while in down dog. Similar to the Yogitoes it works best when you dry it without a dryer sheet. But the material is different. It dries so fast! I always see people in class wetting their Yogitoes and I get it because mine would be slippery until I got some sweat on it, but then once it was more saturated it would get slippery again! So it was a great towel, for 20 minutes of the 90 minute class. With the YogaRat, no need to pre-wet, and no more annoying sliding around.Read more ›

I was looking for a good yoga towel to go with my Manduka yoga mat. Someone suggested yogi toes and I bought a couple-for me and my husband. Then I realized I needed more but yogi toes was expensive. Looking for a cheaper alternative, I bought one yogarat towel. Since then, I have bought 5 and would get more when they become available. This towel simply surpasses the yogi toes in terms of having to make adjustments. The size is perfect for a long mat. The towel rarely moves. When it does, since it is light in weight, it is easy to move it with your toes. Sometimes I do that when I am in downward facing dog :-)

I would give this a higher rating any day compared to the overly priced yogi toes. Buy this item once..you will always go back to it.

I wanted to love this towel, and I do like it a great deal. This was my first foray into yoga towel land, and I am not displeased.

Good things:
I love that it is nearly half the cost of its pricier, rubber-nubbed counterparts (you know which one I'm talking about). Best thing about this towel. Still expensive, if you really think about it, but cheaper than the market alternatives. I have two!
It did prevent my hands and feet from slipping in downward dog, which is the main reason why I went hunting for yoga mat towels in the first place.
It provides a clean layer between you, the sweaty yogi, and your mat. As much as I would like to, I do not disinfect my mat after every use at the studio.
It comes in pleasing colors that do not bleed in the wash, and you can air-dry or stick in the dryer in low heat.

Not-so-good:
Just one thing- you will have to readjust. You can probably blame it on my yoga technique - I am admittedly a novice yogi and perhaps I drag my extremities along my mat more than I should, or I wobble during the balancing poses... But it does get obnoxious to have to readjust the towel ever so often. It breaks up the flow of the practice.

I would still use this towel for more static yoga practices that aren't the power/flow varieties. Definitely a great option for stretching, ab work, and pilates, and I will still use my yogarats when my rubber-nubbed towels have been used and I don't quite want to do laundry yet. If you can splurge, I would recommend the pricier rubber-nubbed towel that so many are faithful to. If you are a beginner yogi and would like to stop slipping on your mat but aren't willing to drop $60 for a towel (really ridiculous!), the yogarat is your friend!

Let me start by saying that the only reason I'm giving this towel 2 stars instead of one is that it seems good for Bikram, Hot Power Fusion, or a hot Hatha yoga practice with little flow.

I practice at Corepower Yoga. They are a chain yoga company, in multiple states, so if someone is looking at this towel in comparison to a Yogitoes, you will know what classes I am referring to. This studio is pretty much all heated classes.

I used this towel for the first time tonight, I was really excited to try it out in a Yoga Sculpt class (heated class, with humidity, sun salutations, vinyasa type flow, static postures like lunges, squats, cardio bursts, free weight lifting, and core work). This towel was all over the place when doing warm up sun salutations like flowing from downward facing dog, to jumping to the top of the mat. The bottoms of my feet would stick to the towel (as they were sweaty). I was really annoyed.

However, my hands and feet didn't slip, its just that my feet kept sticking to the towel. I think because its a lighter towel, and Yogitoes has the rubber nubs that weigh it down somewhat...?

Even with my hands making sweat marks they didn't slip, its just that within 15 minutes, the towel had been sticking to my feet and hands so much it was crumbled on my mat and I had to stop and bust out the backup Yogitoes I brought along with me.

I will only use this towel for a Hot Power Fusion class (hatha yoga, with 1 set of sun salutations, very little flow, very hot and humid) or a Bikram class. I wouldn't even attempt to use it in a C2 (Fast paced vinyasa flow, hot).

I do like the color, the length is good, but the width for a standard mat is a little thin.
