If You Liked Office Space, You'll Love This Book,
This review is from: 30 Something and Over It: What Happens When You Wake Up And Don't Want to Go To Work.Ever Again (Paperback)
"30-Something And Over It" is a must-read for anyone disillusioned with work, even if you're not in your 30s. This humorous memoir is one of the most honest, realistic books I've ever read on the subject.
I'm sure most of us can relate to the feeling of waking up and feeling sick in the morning because we don't want to go to work. But it often goes much deeper than being lazy or not wanting to go to a job because of bad pay or work conditions. You may have a good job, at least on paper, with a great salary, prestigious title, etc., but find your work meaningless. This was the case with Kasey, who worked her way up the ranks, but lost herself in the midst of the corporate bs, office politics and agendas that she didn't believe in. The whole time I was reading this book, I was nodding my head in agreement, thinking, "this is me." Her commentary on corporate culture is brilliant and made me laugh out loud many times. The book doesn't provide an easy solution--and if it did, it would be dishonest--but helps you realize that if you are going through this, you are not alone. It also provides inspiration and ideas if you are thinking about making a drastic career change. If you're "over it" with your job, you need to read this book.

I'm a bit shy of being a "30-something" but I still identified with this book. After you run out of "boxes to tick" it's hard to know how to find your passion again.
The author gives hope that someday I will, though. With an engaging story and lessons learned, it was an easy read that has left me thinking and trying to remain open to the possibilities in my career and my life. Great read!

This book really touched a nerve with the disappointment you feel after a few years of work, when you start to think, is this it?!! You don't have to be 30 something to appreciate this book.
