About the Author
Since 1964, Scott Haugen has been pursuing salmon and steelhead throughout the Pacific Northwest. Today his travels take him to multiple rivers, from Alaska to California, in search of these exciting fish. As a full time outdoor writer and TV personality, Haugen spends more than 200 days afield each year. The knowledge he has gained through personal experience is what he loves to share, with the hope that more people will be motivated to participate in the outdoor endeavors he so loves. Scott Haugen, his wife, Tiffany, and their two sons, live near Oregon's McKenzie River, one of the author's favorite streams.

Scott's many years of on-the-water experience pays off for us in this book.
He knows most of the tricks to catch salmon & steelies in rivers and presents them here in a concise format. My book, "How to catch salmon, sturgeon, lingcod, rockfish, & halibut," is strictly saltwater. Scott's book covers freshwater. I recommend it.
