Product Description

303 Fabric Guard protects all new or cleaned "outdoor" fabrics from water, dirt, grease and sun damage. Outdoor fabrics include canvas convertible tops, cloth automobile seats and carpets, biminis, and boating enclosures. You aren't limited to just outdoor fabrics, though, 303 Products advises that this exceptional protectant is a useful protective product for fine leathers, silk, footwear, and sporting apparel. Like many 303 products, Fabric Guard contains a UV screen to slow the harmful effects of the sun. Great for Boats. If you sail, this is an essential product for sail protection. Also use 303 Fabric Guard on enclosures, and boat and sail covers. 303 Fabric Guard should be applied to new fabrics from the start and on recently cleaned fabrics to prevent future soiling. The product will bond best to clean, dry fibers. The surface should be completely dry, and it's best to apply Fabric Guard on a warm day in full sun. The amount of 303 Fabric Guard needed depends on the material. One 16 oz. bottle will treat 50-75 sq. ft. of marine canvas. For lighter, thinner fabrics, less product is needed to get good coverage. 303 Fabric Guard should be reapplied at the first signs of re-soiling. 32oz New part number 303-30606. Formally High Tech fabric Guard. Fedex Ground Shipping only. No expedited shipping. No USPS

I've used other brands of waterproofer for my canvas convertible top and I like this the best. The only negative I have to mention applies to the dispenser and not the product itself: you cannot get close to the edges of what you are spraying without causing overspray. What I do to avoid this is to spray a quality 2" wide paint brush (some people like a foam paint brush which I haven't tried) and then "paint" the waterproofer onto the edges. There are other good products out there but I like this one the best.

For years I use an other brand that was recommend for BMW's but when I replaced the car with a Pontiac Solstice, the other brand did nothing to make my top water proof, but one treatment with 303 and everything was great. After almost five years of using 303 the top still looks new and repels water great.

This product (High Tech Fabric Guard 30674) works great - 100% of the water now beads up and my cloth top looks better than new !!!

My Situation:
The very first time my brand new, light beige cloth convertible top got wet I realized it came from the car dealer and/or factory either untreated and/or seriously under treated because water just soaked right into the cloth as evidenced by the darker cloth color when wet.

End Result:
After applying two coats of this product 100% of the water beaded-up and rolled right off the top. Nothing soaked in at all - zero wet spots on the cloth top. (Since the top is a light beige color any wet spots would show up slightly darker in color.) Any water that didn't roll off the top was absorbed using The Absorber 51149 sponge-cloth available on Amazon or at WalMart.

Process:
1) I gently cleaned my cloth convertible top using 303 Fabric Top Cleaner (303-30550). To do this I first rinsed the top with fresh water, then sprayed the cleaner on & gently scrubbed using a very soft brush (I used Star Brite Soft Yellow Wash Brush 040013 available on Amazon). A stiffer brush or too vigorous scrubbing could damage the fabric, scuffing the threads and creating a fuzzy look to the fabric. I cleaned the top in slightly overlapping areas about 18” x 18”.

2) I rinsed the top and allowed it to dry thoroughly.

3) Using a 2" paint brush and small container of 303 High Tech Fabric Guard 30674, I applied the Fabric Guard brushing it on in a manner similar to painting. By overlapping slightly I made certain I applied the product to every square inch of the top.

4) I allowed the top to dry several hours and applied a second coat of Fabric Guard.

This waterproofer is recommended by the Sunbrella folks and if you want to keep your Sunbrella boat cover (or whatever) waterproof, this is the stuff. Strongly recommend you use a face mask when applying as inhaled blowback put my buddy in the hospital.

I put this on our gazebo canvas canopy. It does bead up the water and will hopefully prolong the life of the canopy. For big jobs like a gazebo cover, you do need 2 bottles.

The awning on my RV is 7 years old and was allowing water thru in a number of places. I washed it with dish soap and a soft brush and applied the 303 from the spray bottle after it had thoroughly dried. The end result was not exactly what I was looking for. The directions leave much to be desired. Spraying 303 on my RV awning was a hit and/or miss. The spray left missing spots except at the end when I put enough product on to thoroughly wet the fabric. The directions don't mention this, nor does their website. I've ordered more 303 and will re-apply on the section of the awning that I did not cover sufficiently the first time. My awning is 12 by 7 feet and would take two 32 oz bottles. I rated this only 4 stars because of the lack of sufficient directions, otherwise I would have given it 5. Time will tell how long it will last, but it was easy enough to apply. I have an electric awning and I started with it rolled mostly up and sprayed the 303 from a tall ladder, unrolling the awning and spraying till I reached the bottom.

Used it on outdoor patio furniture cushions. So far it has resisted stains from birds and plants:) It was easy to apply and dried fast.

We used this product on our Sunbrella covered outdoor furniture. It did an excellent job of waterproofing and also any dirt, dust, bird droppings, etc either wash off or brush off easily. Very satisfied with the product!
