Available in Three Styles

Bolstered

Many cats love to snuggle and curl up against a bolster so we’ve created the bolstered kitty sill, available in kitty print or leopard print. The inside bed is covered with a plush, soft, velvety microfleece and the bed itself is a soft, orthopedic foam. The bolster zips off and the cover is machine washable.

The Deluxe Bolstered Kitty Sill is ideal for any cat that enjoys looking out the window and feeling warm in the sunshine while having the security of a bolster.

Unheated

The ever-popular kitty sill without the added extras, for the cat that just loves to be up in the window, basking in the sunlight and watching the birds fly around. The interior of the bed itself is a soft, orthopedic foam. Cats will love how soft and comfortable this perch is in comparison to your window sill. Available in basic tan or zebra print.

Heated

For the cat that loves to be extra warm and snuggly, K&H has created a heated Kitty Sill. K&H has incorporated its Pet Bed Warmer which utilizes a dual-thermostat heating unit buried deep within the super soft orthopedic foam and is removable, so the Kitty Sill is year-round friendly. The heating unit warms the sleep surface to approximately 12-15 degrees above your pet’s normal body temperature. The super soft cover is a washable faux lambskin and will be cohesive within any home's interior. Indoor use only, MET listed. 6 watts. One year limited warranty.

Product Description

Kitty Sill is the sturdiest window perch on the market. It has advanced engineering for strength, ease of assembly, and for an asthetically pleasing oval design. Includes two methods of attachment to the window sill: Velcro for easy removal from the window sill, and screws for a more permanent attachment. Supports over 40 lbs. Many indoor cats love the soft and comfortable feel of this kitty sill.

I just got this today, and we're returning it.

Once you have attached the legs correctly and all the way to the snap, you drill the thing into the window sill and rest easy.
Diana
She's an indoor cat so she loves to sit in the window and watch the activity outside.

I just got this today, and we're returning it. We bought one about 10 years ago, for about $20, which we still have, and the cats love it, so we were going to get another for a different room. One of the reasons we still have it is because it's so well made. It's a solid piece of wood with foam and faux fur covering. We've since replaced the faux fur, but that's only because of 10 years of sun wear.

This, however, is not wood, but plastic, and not a solid platform of plastic at that. It's that kind of plastic that is sort of like a grate, then it has some foam with egg carton dimples, and the faux fur covering. It looks very cheap, compared to what I have.

For one thing, if you want to put it on with the velcro, it's odd because there's only one small strip on the bottom of it where you can put the velcro, and that space is so close to the edge that you wouldn't be able to fully put the elastic faux fur on it as it's suppose to fit properly. With the wood (or a solid surface) you can adjust where the velcro should go according to your window, and according to how the fur fits. There is an option to screw it in, but that's not an option for us.

It looks nice in the picture, but it's so much cheaper than I expected for what I paid. As crazy as my younger cat gets jumping up and down on it, I wouldn't trust this for that. I think we may just buy the materials and build one ourselves. Disappointed though, I was looking forward to giving this to my kitties tonight.

I just returned this window perch today. I had the same experience as the other person that reviewed it. The pad for the cats to sit on is very nice but I couldn't get the legs to stay on it. They would fall off with the slightest pressure on the pad!

I purchased the K&H MFG Kitty Sill through an online store. When it arrived, I was surprised by the poor quality of the sill. It is made of plastic and a flimsy plastic that is just a frame and not even solid. I installed it using the velcro and allowed the velcro glue to set for 24 hours as per the instructions. Within 4 days of use by my cats, the Kitty Sill came crashing down with my cat on it. Thankfully, my cat was uninjured. I contacted K&H Mfg and their first reply was that I did not install it correctly. When I said that I followed the instructions, their second reply was that I should go purchase more velcro and try again. If you don't mind paying for a cheap sill that may endanger you cat's life then this is the kitty sill for you, otherwise avoid it like the plaque!

I have not tried the velcro /glue thing . I used the optional screws...so I cannot testify to problems with that. But...you people who couldn't get the legs securely in the slots and had trouble with way they fit against the wall...you tried to put the legs on backwards. How do I know this? Because I did the same thing at first. Once I realized my error the seat sits very securely on my two inch window sill. And my cats don't care if it's plastic.

My cat is an indoor cat. My girlfriend and I live in a 3rd floor walk-up in NYC and, considering the volume of vehicle traffic in our neighborhood, it's impractical and dangerous to let our cat, Finn, out to roam. We've noticed that one of his preferred roosting spots has been near our kitchen window, however his view was limited and he was resigned to sitting on cold linoleum tile. Because our window sills are too small for him to sit in, I decided to look on Amazon for something we could put in our bedroom window that Finn could sit on and observe the street life below. I came across the Kitty Sill and, with its decent price and good reviews, decided to purchase it.

Cut to three days later, the Kitty Sill arrived on our doorstep. Instillation was a little tricky at first as the instructions are lacking, but after about 5 minutes I figured out the Kitty Sill's construction. The Kitty Sill comes with three parts: the padded sill itself, and two support braces (along with a bag containing screws and Velcro tape). First, you have to determine where on the padded sill you can fit the support braces so that the sill will be level. I just did this pretty much by a guess and check method. Second, you have to then attach the Kitty Sill to your window sill. There are two methods you can use to attach the Kitty Sill to your window sill: you can apply Velcro tape to window sill and the Kitty Sill, or you can screw the Kitty Sill into the window sill. I chose to use the screws as Finn is a big guy, likes to jump up onto things, and figured the screws would take the heavier loads.

After installation, I picked up Finn and placed him on his new padded sill. He usually doesn't like cat specific items but he seems to really enjoy his Kitty Sill.

I bought this as a present for my cat and couldn't be happier. Yes it is made of plastic but it is still quite durable. I used velcro to install because I live in an apartment. I was done with the installation in under ten minutes. Although the instructions said to let the velcro sit, my cat, who had been watching me intently the whole time, jumped up immediately. This is her favorite spot in the whole house. It is also very adjustable. I have a small ledge already on my window and I was worried it wouldn't fit, because most won't but I had no troubles. Since my cat likes it so much I am thinking about getting another one for my bedroom.
