All but the most expensive red-dots suffer from parallax at shorter ranges.
(I can't speak for the most expensive ones that I haven't owned.)
I actually get much more consistent results at 25 yards with iron sites.
Switching to these (on a CX4) allowed for co-witness giving me both sighting options.

I had tried another budget brand that was slightly off center and was therefore distracting with the irons.
