This is the ultimate BACCARA collection. It features 50 original RCA recordings from this great Spanish duo. BACCARA were extremely popular all over Europe in the late 70's and early 80's.
Their music is a blend of Euro disco and pop with brilliant melodies. This box set includes all the hit singles ("Yes Sir, I Can Boogie", "Sorry, I'm A Lady", "Darling", "Parlez-vous français?", "The Devil Sent You To Lorado", "Body Talk" "Ay, Ay Sailor"), all the songs from the albums "Baccara", "Light My Fire" and "Colours" as well as rare tracks such as "Mad In Madrid", "Amoureux", "You And Me", "El diablo te mandó a Laredo", "Baila tú", "En el año 2000", "Eins plus eins ist eins", and "Sleepy Time Toy". Superb ballads such as "Love You Till I Die", "Don't Play Me A Symphonie", "Roses In The Snow" and "Sing Our Love A Lullaby" are finally available on CD for the very first time. This 3 CD box set is a must for every BACCARA fan and a great opportunity to listen again to the beautiful voices of Mayte Mateos & Maria Mendiola, the original line-up of BACCARA. Many thanks to Sony BMG Germany for this outstanding BACCARA retrospective.

I first heard a couple of Baccara's songs on some compilations of European pop music a few years ago. Upon reading MediaControl's review of this collection, I decided to buy it, and I am very happy I did. MediaControl mentioned most of the most popular songs, but one absolutely wonderful surprise was "Boomerang" (on Disc 2), which is a delight for any Dixieland Jazz fan as I am. This set of 3 discs is a bargain at this price.

Baccara is at the Top of the Europop scene with this compilation which one could undoubtedly call the Utimate/Essential Collection, sung by the original artists.
Even though, Baccara was very popular in the late 70's & early 80's, one often had the impression that their music has been disappearing over the years. That's why I was overjoyed when this cd publication was released, spanning their debut years in music, till recent times. The audio quality of these cds is excellent, which in itself has lended charm, in no small way, to the overall product. Let the unique voices of the Baccara Duo & their 'catchy', europop music give you an idea as to why the wonderful, magical music of the 70's & 80's will never die out.

Im no audiophile Im thinking I just may be a little fanatical when it comes to audio because my car is even more extensive than this but in my home I have a 9.4 setup consisting of a Onkyo 5008 a Emotiva XPA-5 amplifier, 4 Mythos STS's, 4 Mythos Gem XL's, 4 Super cube Reference sub woofers and a Oppo bluray player as my main CD player witch sounds better than my PS3 when playing music or movies. I also have over $2,000 of acoustic panels and bass traps in my room. With the Onkyo and the Emotiva together they pump out around 2,300 watts to my 9 speakers and with the 4 Super cube Refs and built in amps in the Mythos STS's I have a total of 8,400 watts of powered subs. So my point here is audio is very important to me and with this much audio equipment in my place I can here every minor discrepancy or flaw in my new and old Cd's or SACD's. So now on to Baccara, When I saw 30th anniversary edition I just thought it was another compilation but when I received it in the mail I was amazed that it was three Cd's with a total of 50 song's WOW!!!! 1st off I love their music and those voices and Spanish accent's very much. Im a sucker for accent's and heavily broken english. When ever I see footage of these 2 gorgeous women I think of Charlie's Angels. When playing this CD, the quality is descent it has good bass witch a lot of older music seems to be lacking. The bass is full but not really deep but it does the job and matches their misc just fine. Their voices are distinct and not muffled the pitch is just right. And most important to me, there is not allot of hiss in the back ground that I seem to be finding in older music. I give the audio quality of this CD 4 stars, it is not going to blow you away with it's audio quality but it is well done for the age of the music and they did a good job on this CD and the disk it self gets 5 stars from me.

I liked this set of CDs, especially the first CD. It is a great entertaiment for a party, or just to listen in your car. I think women are more likely to enjoy it, and a nice gift.
