Book Description

Journey with Sarah Mae for 31 Days as you get your home and your heart in order. Give Sarah Mae 31 days and she'll give you not only a cleaner home, but a vision for one.

31 Days to Clean is about the "why" and the vision and the heart for taking care of your domain. Each day you will be encouraged with some thoughts and ideas on the heart of cleaning, and then you will put those ideas to action.

After each days reading, you will be given two challenges (based off of Mary and Martha in the bible):

The Mary Challenge -Something you do that encourages/engages your heart
The Martha Challenge - Specific cleaning tasks

31 Days to Clean is a faith journey towards ruling, subduing, and loving. It is about forgoing perfection and instead choosing life.
*31 Days to Clean is written with a Christian perspective

"What do you think of when you consider doing laundry, washing dishes, and cleaning the dreaded bathroom? Are you discouraged? Do you feel overwhelmed? I have to say I feel that way ... often. In all my live-long days I haven't seen my home as a ministry. Can I serve Jesus and others as I clean my home? Sarah Mae proves I can. As a wife, mom, mother-in-law and mentor to teenage moms I'm going to cherish this book and share what I learned. Cleaning is more than just fighting germs. It can be a ministry of the heart!"
-Tricia Goyer, author of 25 books, include Blue Like Play Dough: The Shaping of Motherhood in the Grip of God

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all around April 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Sarah Mae does a great job of combining the practical with the quintessence of the homemaker.

Yes, we need to keep our homes clean and in order, but are we missing the point? Why are we keeping our homes in order and who are we doing it for? Are we remembering the root of service should be planted in love?

"31 Days to Clean" gets to the center of these questions by challenging you to evaluate your own heart.

Are our priorities straight? Do we take joy in what we do? Are we lazy? Overwhelmed? What can we do about it?

There are so many things to learn about ourselves through this 31 day journey. In addition, each day has a challenge for the heart and a challenge for the home (cleaning). The challenges for the home are based on a Spring cleaning schedule. Things we don't often get to.

I highly recommend this book to every homemaker. Sarah Mae is real about her own struggles in homemaking which makes it easy for me (the reader) to relate.

"31 Days to Clean" is not just about cleaning your home; it's about cleaning your heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Motivation April 13, 2011
By Angie
Format:Kindle Edition
I ordered this book because I need motivation and inspiration. I have been stuck in a rut for awhile now and haven't felt like cleaning. This book has already given me the push that I needed to clean my house not only for my family and myself, but for reasons beyond that. I love that there are small do-able tasks each day to clean but also a task to give inspiration to keeping a clean house. Love everything I have read!!! Thank you to Sarah Mae for such an amazing resource. I will be giving this book to each of my girls as they move out, so that they will be blessed with this great book as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cleaning Book Full of Grace! April 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
What I think is so great about the concept of this book is that it is all broken down into manageable pieces. You can get your cleaning done without putting the rest of your life on hold! It's perfect for busy women at home, when often all we have is a minute here and a minute there. I also love all the encouragement to keep our homemaking "life-giving," and the focus on love and grace. Highly recommended!

I thought this book might get me inspired to clean efficeintly and smarter, but I couldn't get past the religious overtones which i found offputting. Not my cup of tea sorry.
