This amazing collection of chilling paranormal thrillers was one of the most entertaining that I have read in a while. While all the stories were a fast read and suspenseful, there were a few favorites: "Bloody Bones" by Diandra Linnemann,"The Life and Loss of Miss Elizabeth Prince" by J. Rodimus Fowler,"The Journey Home" by Shawn M. Riddle, "Lights Out" by Kevin Walsh, the "Licked Hand" by Mark Goddard, and last but not least "Lorelie" by J. Rodimus Fowler.
All in all it was an amazingly good book to read. It was published at the perfect time.
I am looking forward to the next book of short stories.
First off...i didn't want these stories to end,I needed more and would have sat and read them for hours,if need be. I liked the chance to read so many talented authors in one book, but being a horror buff, I was left wanting more. This is a single setting book and will be loved by teenagers, who have such a short attention span. I liked some of the stories, loved some and couldn't find one that I hated. My picks are as follows...The Spell by Lyle Perez-Tinics, The Life and Loss of Miss Elizabeth Prince and Lorelie both by J Rodimus Fowler,The Journey Home by Mr Shawn Riddle and In A Cats Eye by Louise Henry Jones. I found these stories to be very well written, carried my interest and left me with a chill and a smile. Kudos to the authors! A MUST READ for the Halloween season!
Both of the bits I've read so far have dealt with Child fears. The heavy stuff. "Lorelei" by J Rodimus Fowler is awesomely creepy and while avoiding spoilers, creates a wonderful source of supernatural angst in the character of Lorelei with a few deft strokes. "The Heart Fixer" by Rhiannon Mills is also full of prickly childhood terrors given hideous life. I have plenty more to read, but clearly, Lyle Perez-Tinics knows how to pick 'em. I'll be reading his story next!
