Though many pros tell you to only buy bits as you need them for projects, I like buying forstner bits in sets. With this set, you get all of the basic sizes you will need up to 1" and never have the disappointment of wishing you had bought one just a bit bigger/smaller. As for the quality of these bits, I thought I had been using decent forstner bits until I started using this set. They cut cleanly with zero tearout and no burning. When I say cleanly, I mean that the inside walls of the finished hole feel like they were sanded down with 180+ grit sandpaper. That has proven to be the case whether I am drilling q/s white oak, cheap white pine, or plywood. I get the same fantastic results each time. I highly recommend these bits and I know I will be using Fisch forstner bits for a long time to come. All in all, you get the quality of a high end Freud set at a much better price! Highly recommended.
