2.0 out of 5 stars frustrating March 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This appears to be the beginning of another series. Mr. Wise is a great writer.(I loved the Deadlocked series) BUT-- This book doesn't tell a complete story, it's just an opener for future books in a series. 99% of this book was character development and story set up. The 1% of real action seemed like an afterthought. I was very much invested in the characters but there was no payoff in the end. ARGH!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! January 5, 2013

Mr. Wise has captured me again.

The storyline of 314 is amazing. You start off in the middle of it all, you are pulled in and there is no coming out until you are finished. Really toys with your mind, i loved it!

I can't wait until your next story. Thank you!

This book does much to restore my faith in the horror genre. The pacing and characters are superb. The violence is incredibly balanced. I can't wait for the next one! Another hot for Mr. Wise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book from A.R Wise December 29, 2012

I'm a huge fan of this authors Deadlocked series, and I was looking forward to seeing how this book matched up against his zombie books. 314 did not disappoint, well written, very descriptive, and pretty scary. My only issue with Mr. Wise's books is that they are so good, I finish reading them so fast and am left wanting more, but that's my problem lol. What i love about his books is that he has a definite style but yet every book is so different, whether its the structure of the book or the story, very original. This is a great book, and I love the way it was written, it starts right in the middle of the chaos, pulls you in then slows down so we can learn about the characters and get a feel for the relationships and history between them. Some of the scenes in this book will give you the chills, just read the first chapter and you'll be "cursed" as Mr. Wise would say himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Significant Symbols
The importance of the 314 to the main character simply makes the reader aware of how seemingly trivial data can become out of proportion if you let it.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you like gore...
this is for you. Personally, I couldn't get past the 3rd chapter. To be fair, it wasn't what I expected and I have a sensitivity to gratuitous, graphic images...
