Slave Flash,

The description says it's a slave flash for the Canon T1i. Unfortunately it's not an external flash for it. It doesn't work correctly in the hotshoe. The camera doesn't recognize it, so you can't set it up in the camera menu. You can't control the exposure so it fires at full brightness and whites everything out. The slave works fine, but not as described. The manual says it will fire after a certain number of flashes depending on the setting you choose, but no matter what slave setting you have it on, it fires as soon as it detects the flash from the camera. The difference in the settings seems to be the timing of the flash. I found that S2 was the correct timing for the best lighting for the camera.Bottom line... If you need a slave flash for your camera, this is a good price for one. The description is misleading. This is not a flash for the Canon T1i. It's a flash for any camera when used as a slave. If you're looking for a flash for the hotshoe that's compatible with your camera, good luck. |
