4.0 out of 5 stars Alana opens doors
I would have never known of Ani DiFranco or her music had Alana not introduced Ani to me via this song. I enjoyed this song so much that researched Ani and have been lead to even more great music. I'm looking forward to Fortune Cookies. If not by Alana's own pen, she may introduce me to more wonderful writers. Alana, thank you for introducing yourself and Ani with this...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT HER SONG
I would like to say 32 flavors is not Alana Davis's origional song so don't give her credit for the lyrics or melody IT IS ANI DIFRANCO'S WORK. It is on NOT A PRETY GIRL which came out before allana's album. One highlite of her work is how much shorter hers is than ani's but besides that it is not as good as the origional so first buy ani's album. Thank You

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes me proud to be a girl, September 1, 1999

She's awesome, immensely talented, and very inspiring. Her voice reveals emotions in a way which drives me to listen to her day in, day out. I've had the cd for about 2 years and I've yet to tire of it. Thank you for existing, Alana.

Why do you have to compare Ani and Alana? Would you like for there to be only ONE talented female singer in the world? Alana is incredible. If she can do it this goooood, let her.... in peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally her song, May 3, 2005
This review is from: 32 Flavors / Lullaby (Audio CD)
This is great music. Alana has artistically made this her song such that it has great character and style, way different from the original. I like this better than Ani's version as it has great flow, hot vocals, and artistic edge. No need to get the original or compare the two... this spirit of this song moves and inspires.

5.0 out of 5 stars An artisic remake of Ani Difranco's hit 32 Flavors., December 18, 1998

I was amazed at the authenticity of this album. Her expression of folk/blues through original vocals and acoustic guitar was a welcome. This album is filled with words from the heart and mind for anyone who is looking for truth in music.

I like the original (Ani Difranco) version better than Alana's but I am impressed with what Alana did with the song. Alana has a great smokey voice and I like how she made the song more upbeat. If you like Ani's version then definitely check out Alana's, if you like Alana's cover version definitely check out the original (Ani's)! The two songs are quite different but both deserve a good rating for their different reasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hauntingly familiar, Bewitching, Lucid, November 19, 1998

Heard it on the radio while driving home from work one day. Within a few short lines, it lifted my mood from black bile to cerulean blue. The song seeped into the very marrow of my bones and I hope it stay there. 32 flavors calms and electrifies from the inside-out. When the song was over, I knew the answer to the question "what makes me tick."
