4.0 out of 5 stars Not super durable., May 5, 2010
This is the type of thing that is good for tree stands. The lining on the inside is quite nice, and cuts wind and retains heat very well. It is pretty loud for stalking. I do a lot of crawling around, and am generally hard on the things I own. I therefore demand a lot out of them. There is no comparison between this product and good stout army surplus pants. It is my prediction they will wear out within a year (of fairly heavy use). I was considering returning them, but I decided to keep them in the end. I will experiment with altering the liner so it is detachable, which would make the pants pretty quiet. When I do this I'm going to reinforce the stitching as the poor kid (likely) working in some sweatshop that put this together, single stitched everything and like I said I'm hard on my stuff.

Here's the blend since they didn't bother listing it in their description:
64 wool
18 polyester
10 nylon
6 rayon
2 "other fiber exclusive of trims"

That means you're buying two percent 'whatever' pants.

If I could do it again I would spend the extra thirty bucks and get some pure stout woolen pants.
If you're on budget, this is a good way to go.
You can always just spraypaint your 7$ surplus pants.

I gave the wool pants a workout along the Denali Highway here in Alaska on a couple of recent hunting trips. The only problem I ever had with the wool pants was ice accumulation on the legs when wading through a lot of deep snow. Most of it brushed off. The pants and lining keep you warm, even when riding in open air at low teens of temperature. They will get a definite workout in the coming hunting and trapping seasons.
