Brian and Marianita Shilhavy, founders of Tropical Traditions, were the first ones to export Virgin Coconut Oil from the Philippines in 2001. Today, the Gold Label standard is the highest standard for organic Virgin Coconut Oil. This Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil is a truly unrefined coconut oil. This coconut oil is made on Mt. Banahaw from organic coconuts. Coconuts are used fresh (within 24 hours of harvest) from small family farms on Mt. Banahaw and other rural places in Quezon Province, the coconut capital of the Philippines. The volcanic soil of Mt. Banahaw makes these organic coconuts some of the most nutritionally rich coconuts in the world! Testing done in independent laboratories reveals a 50% - 57% content of lauric acid, and higher levels of phenolic antioxidants than most other coconut oils. The fresh coconut meat is shredded (wet milled), and then cold-pressed to make coconut milk. The milk is then fermented for 24-36 hours, and the oil is then separated and filtered from the curds. No chemical or high-heat treatment is used, and this oil contains no trans fatty acids. We do NOT mass produce this oil. It is made by families who are coconut farmers using old-fashioned traditional methods that have been used here for hundreds of years. Our coconut trees and family producers are certified organic according to strict USDA standards. The families who produce the oil are also trained according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and re-certified each year. This high-grade Virgin Coconut Oil has a long shelf life due to the high anti-oxidant properties. Independent laboratory analysis shows this to be one of the highest quality coconut oils on the market. 32-oz. - Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil - 1 quartMy family and I use Tropical Traditions Gold label Virgin Coconut oil - not only is it great for cooking and baking, but its wonderful for your skin too. We keep some in the shower for daily use and also use their coconut oil skin care cream for any skin problems or rashes - works great! However there are two other things I look for when buying online - fast shipping and good customer service. Tropical Traditions has both - I've been buying their products for years - their customer service rocks!! I recommend this company -you can purchase this item with confidence.

Before I found Tropical Traditions, I had used several other "namebrand" coconut oils. Once I found TT....none could compare! This is the highest quality coconut oil I have found...and I believe the highest quality anywhere! Try this product and you will feel the difference!I use lots of their products! I will also agree with the other customers' comment about shipping and customer service when buying online. This company has more integrity than most and the friendliest customer service people! They do ROCK!

Whatever this is, it is NOT 100% coconut oil. I contacted Tropical Traditions, and they said region, and method of preparation can cause variations in taste. However I have been using coconut oil for years and this oil does not behave like any other coconut oil on the planet. It "solidifies" CLEAR!!?? instead of white and has almost no smell, whereas ALL 100% coconut oil is completely white when "solid", and definitely smells like coconut. I was very tempted to send this out to a lab to see exactly what the product in the glass jar was, because I am POSITIVE that this is NOT 100% pure coconut oil. My advice see Coconut Oil expert Bruce Fife's article "How Do You Identify a Good Quality Coconut Oil?" before purchasing. [...]
