More About the Author

Lorilee is a child of God, wife, mom, writer, minimalist, travel lover, and wanderer. She graduated with a 4-year degree in International Studies with an business emphasis.

After playing in the business world for a few years, she left to take care of her kids and work with her husband on entrepreneurial projects. She is now working on the life-long degree of finding her own life, firmly believing that life is too short to try and live up to other people's or society's expectations. Lorilee has been searching for what she values and considers success. Everyone's ideal life is different, but very few people dream of living in a cubical, climbing a ladder, making more money, and buying more stuff that just breaks and fades, in an attempt to impress people they don't even know or like.

In her book, 3 2 1 Stop -- stop running and start living, she talks about stripping away expectations and habits that reflect others instead of you. With a laid back, easy tone, she addresses material clutter, not as a way of cutting back or denying yourself, but as a way to free up your life and space for what you truly love. Going beyond material clutter, she also addresses over commitment, time, money, and other areas of clutter and stress that crowd out the life we want to live.

Far from having life figured out, Lorilee shares in her book what she has learned and invites you to join her in the journey. She would love to get to know you through her blog Loving Simple Living, Twitter, Facebook, and Google +.

I just recently moved...to a bigger house, because we have too much stuff, we now have an extra living room, an extra bedroom, an extra dining space and two extra bathrooms. I thought the extra space would simplify my life, but instead it has made it just the opposite, chaotic. My mind was going in the direction of, I need another couch for the extra room, and I need another table for the eat-in kitchen and yes finally, no more fighting over the bathroom. But after living here, my house is a mess because my husband and I work full time and between the kids, supper, family worship and bed-time rituals we have no time to take care of the house, we have higher cost in utilities and all this equals stress. I didn't even get through the introduction when I realized that simplifying means removing not adding to. And then I got the urge to leave work and get rid of my extra stuff (and then some). But don't just read the intro, the book is too good to stop there. I never knew what minimalism was, but by minimizing your stuff and freeing up time and energy you can live life to the maximum. Lorilee has a simple and refreshing approach to minimalism and an easy to follow writing style. I was very privileged to get to read this book, it spoke to me and helped me realize that I minimalism is more than just about my belonging but also about ME.

I don't know who I am. I don't know who I am. It's a scary thought, but I am being honest. I never realized it. When I introduce myself to others, this is what I say: "I'm Mereta, mom and wife," sure that is a part of what defines me. But I have yet to discover who I AM and what my passion is. I would have never even realized this if I hadn't read 3-2-1 Stop by Lorilee (Lippincott).

Loirlee Lippincott makes a personal, passionate case for a simpler life. She adopts a holistic approach to clearing out all kinds of baggage, including intangibles. She mixes her personal and family perspective with key insights from the current minimalist literature to develop her easy, actionable method of 3-2-1-Stop. My takeaways were that love for traveling is a great motivator for simplicity, parenting adds complexity but is also a great opportunity to teach minimalism to kids and that many solutions are intangible such as time management, personal boundaries, memories, financial discipline and education. Well done.

I'm fairly new to this minimalist journey. I have read a few books that have helped me greatly in getting started and stayin motivated. To me this was the best balanced book I've read. I just finished it today. Lori's book is so easy to read and kept me motivated with each page I turned. Some things I already read in other books but needed to hear them again. Other things were new and fresh. This is a must read if you're already on this journey or just curious.

I appreciate that Lorilee covers every area of life - spirit, mind, body in regard to living a minimalist lifestyle. This is a guide to help you strip all unnecessary "stuff" from your life so you can focus on and have the creative space (mental, physical, spiritual) to pursue what is more important in your life. I like that she encourages & challenges you to define what simple & minimal mean for your life - she recognizes & respects that everyone's level of minimalism is different. Get your copy now it will change the way you think about your "stuff".

Wow. I love the challenge of this book to let go of all of our preconceived ideas of what we are "supposed" to do and design a life that is tailored to who we really are. I was so absorbed that I finished the book quickly, then immediately started shedding "stuff."

I loved this book! Lorilee shares her own personal journey towards simple living. She shares her thoughts, actions, struggles and ideas on her journey to find the simple life. She downsizes her house, goes through her 'stuff' and really analyzes what's truly important. Lorilee got rid of the things that weighed her down to enjoy what she really loves in life, family and travel. I found myself wanting to join her on her journey and enjoy the simple life. The only thing I disagreed with was her thoughts on not stockpiling (that's the crazy coupon lady in me.)

I highly recommend this book, especially if you want to slow down your life and live more in the moment. It is a great inspiring memoir and debut book for Lorilee.

Lorilee Lippincott's book, "3-2-1-Stop- Stop running and start living" is a great combination of "how-to" manual and inspirational memoir. When I started reading the book, I couldn't stop, reading the entire (short) book in two sessions. Now, I'm re-reading for ideas on how to clear out things in my life to make room for people and activities that mean something to me. From clearing out clutter in your home to clearing out activities in your life that no longer nourish you, Lori's book takes you by the hand and gently shows you the way. Great book!

Lorilee Lippincott has written a great book on minimalism. In a time where people want more and more stuff she gives great advice for living with less and how to get there. I liked the notes she gave on "NEWSTART" it is true all you need is nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperature, air, rest and trust in divine power. 3-2-1 Stop is a good book on the road to simplicity.
