I love using this stuff when it's to cold out to wash my car.

I am not a car detailing fanatic, and I would normally go through the automatic car wash at the gas station even though I have always been troubled by the incredible waste of water. But I bought a new black car and I knew it would take more work to keep it clean, especially in the winter. I found this product on an internet discussion board, and bought it here through amazon/palm beach motoring/autogeek. This stuff is awesome!

Just two capfuls of Optimum No Rinse, plus 1 bucket of water and some microfiber towels and my car is CLEAN. Amazingly clean. No rinsing. No hose or anything. The dirt bonds to the liquid somehow and after soaking the microfiber towel in the "soapy" bucket and cleaning off the dirt, you just wipe your car dry. I know it makes no sense whatsoever to NOT rinse off your car, but it really works. No scratches or swirls or anything. Now I can clean my car in the garage, even in the winter - without wasting water! It was really cold outside, so my hands were frozen by the time I was finished, so next time I am going to use a pair of really long rubber gloves. (And after cleaning I did follow with an application of Klasse All in One - a non-wax protectant, which is also new to me and I would also recommend).

This product would be a perfect gift for earth-friendly or car-loving types.

I can tell you without a doubt that I am one of the biggest skeptics you'll ever meet and when I saw rinseless car wash in a forum for the first time I thought it had to be total bull. I am totally anal about my car finish and wouldn't be caught dead with my 13 WRX at an automatic car wash. There was just no way could I believe that you could wash a dry dirty car without scratching the paint without a proper rinse before and after. However after reading so many positive reviews and so few negative in blogs and product reviews and watching a couple of you tube videos, I figured it had to be worth trying. I have an apartment I rent and beach house I own, both with limited access areas and water to wash vehicles, so this would be worth it's weight in gold to me.

I tested it out on my g/f's 2009 BMW first, it was filthy with dirt and some traces of salt from driving in the rain. I used a 2 bucket system, one rinse bucket and one wash bucket with 2 gallons of water to 1 oz of product as instructed. I used a decent microfiber mitt, and made sure I used light pressure and side to side movements and rinsed out the mitt thoroughly in between small areas once the mitt looked dirty. I did about 1/6 of the car at a time, drying each section I washed with a Cobra Waffle Towel, which worked wonderfully I might add, and I dried two cars with one towel before the end of the day and only wrung it out a few times.

My drying towel stayed pretty clean through the process other than a few small areas due to carelessness on my part. Also the rise bucket was almost black with filth when I was done the body, and the wash bucket was very clean with only a few particles in it. Showing that the wash was doing it's job in cleaning and protecting the clear coat.

If you suffer from car detailing OCD this product is for you! I wash my car every week because its black, and owning a black car is like having a second job. With ONR, I can wash my car in the garage in about 20 minutes and it looks amazing! No marring, no mess, easy drying. It doesnt foam or bubble, what you'll have is a bucket of blue water. I put some in a spray bottle and pre-soak the panel before I rub it down with the wet MF. Then pass over it lightly with the dry MF and I've got a brilliant shine. I dont use it if my car is super dirty, but typical rain spots, road dust, dirt one those panels behind the tires, etc. this works great on. As a bonus, my neighbors dont think I'm insane because they cant see me washing my car in the driveway every weekend. :)

I recently discovered Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine through a website forum after purchasing my 2010 Toyota Prius. The idea of a rinse-free wash intrigued me for several reasons: (1) greater convenience in eliminating an extra step, (2) water conservation and (3) the option of washing indoors.

Overall, this product fully met my expectations. When prepared according to instructions, the highly concentrated formula creates a low-sudsing solution that instantly picks up dirt and leaves behind a clean surface on which water beads. After drying, the car surface has a nice, shiny appearance.

I followed other users' advice of using a large bucket with a "Grit Guard" installed to catch dirty residues at the bottom and also having multiple dry cloths available for the washing and drying process. It is important that the product be applied to one region of the car at a time and dried before moving to the next region. This is essentially a "two-cloth" method. For my Prius, I actually use one wash mitt for application and then have about six to eight small microfibre cloths available for drying.

So far I have used the product twice, both when the car was highly dirty and only moderately dirty. I applied the solution to the metal surfaces, the windows and the wheel covers. In each instance I have been satisfied with the results.

In my area, the price of this product (about $16.00) will cover only two automatic car washes. However, one 32-ounce bottle of Optimum No Rinse will handle 16 self-washes, indoors or outdoors, and conserve untold gallons of water. Furthermore, by self-drying, I can avoid the water streaks that are typically left behind in an automatic wash.
