Seriously Underrated!!!,

This album has been underrated for years. But, like a fine wine, it only gets better with age. True, it is not like most other albums by MDB. It's experimental, it's much more melodic and mello- so what? It has on each song a WICKED groove and a haunting atmosphere( and yes, its HEAVY). All with the trademark gloomy low-end that only MDB can muster (guaranteed to rattle the walls). I love all MDB albums, but this is definitely one of my favorites. It is their transition from art-death to goth, later to blend together into the balanced MDB you have today (with a return to those beautiful death metal vocals). This band can do it all!!! Please give this one a listen, this is some of their finest work. Truly EPIC! Then check out their older CLASSICS, and their newer ones to see a great band come full circle. Enjoy at your own risk... it may lead to an addiction.

This is the album that divides My Dying Bride fans.,

This album was a mixed bag. This is what I would call an experimental My Dying Bride album. I felt like the album started out strong, infact the first track I really enjoyed, then it went somewhat down hill from there. If you are just getting into My Dying Bride, I would avoid this one, and start out with either Songs of Darkness, Words of Light, For Lies I Sire. One track in particular made me cringe on this album (Heroin Chic), but overall the entire thing wasnt bad. Every band seems to have an album that isnt well recieved, and this seems to be the one. I would definately suggest this one if you are a collector of My Dying Bride, or want to hear all their music. Is it so bad I wont ever listen to it again? No, it is worth at least a few listens. I would only reccomend this to collectors, or serious My Dying Bride fans. The bonus track was nice, and I liked it actually better than a few songs on the album. I felt like the record had 2 high points *beginning and end*, and the middle was the lowest point. Again, check this record out only if you are a serious collector, or a huge My Dying Bride fan.
