4.0 out of 5 stars Clean Rip Blade, December 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: DELTA 35-7653 10-Inch 30 Tooth General Purpose Circular Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
This blade fills the gap between a 24T bulk ripper and a 40T general purpose blade nicely. It's a full kerf 30 tooth ATB grind with a steep hook angle. It's actually a fairly similar design to the WWII 30T ATB blade. It's not quite as efficient in thick material as a 24T flat top (FTG) bulk ripper, but does leave a cleaner edge that's suitable for glue up right off the saw. There's a tradeoff for every design parameter. The ATB tooth grind is better suited for crosscuts than an FTG bulk ripper or a 30T triple chip (TCG) glue line ripper, which are notoriously ill-suited for crosscuts, though it won't crosscut as quite cleanly as many of the premium 40T to 60T ATB blades. It's a great choice when a bulk ripper just doesn't cut clean enough, or where you may also need acceptable crosscuts from your rip blade. The 30 tooth configuration also poses lower resistance to the saw than a higher tooth count blade. The edges aren't quite as polished as some of the specialty 30T "glue line rip" blades, but is better suited for thicker materials with less burning than the GLRs, which are only intended for materials up to ~ 1" thick.

It has large C4 micrograin carbide teeth, a heavy duty steel plate, laser cut anti-vibration slots, and is precision manufactured in the USA. The 35-7653 is descendant of the former and well respected DeWalt Series 60 line (DW7653), and is an all around clean ripping general purpose blade that lends itself to thicker ripping than most 30T GLRs, and 40T & 50T general use blades, while still offering the versatility of suitable crosscutting for many applications. It's also reasonably priced.

3.0 out of 5 stars A blade with no home..., October 20, 2008
This review is from: DELTA 35-7653 10-Inch 30 Tooth General Purpose Circular Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I can't figure out what this blade is good at. It doesn't rip as fast as most 30T blades and definitely not as fast as a 24T. It's really not better than the 40T and some 60T blades I tried for ripping, also not as clean. As for cross cuts and manmade materials, again not very good even using a ZCI. Pretty significant tear out and chip out. With all of the general purpose and combinations options from $20-$100 out there I can't recommend this one. Even though I got it for under $20 bucks. It's kind of a blade with no niche. Maybe I can make a clock out if it.
