Designed specifically to appeal to the American market, the Z car has enjoyed long-term popularity with its sporty styling and impressive performance. Z car fans are loyal and numerous. Over 1.4 million Z cars have been sold worldwide, including 1 million-plus in the U.S. The five generations of Z cars include the latest version, the 350Z introduced in 2003, which has refueled interest in Z cars. About the Author
Pete Evanow has worked in the automotive industry for 18 years, primarily in marketing roles. He has been involved in various Nissan motorsports programs and in a mid-1990s program in which Nissan sold officially restored 240Zs.

Would have given this five stars, but the one piece of Z history I was really looking for (1978 280Z - Black Pearl Limited Edition) was completely skipped over. Other than that - there is plenty of good reading!

Very good overview of the "Z" from concept to current production. As the original owner of a 1971 Datsun 240Z, I especially enjoyed the detailed section on the factory program of buying early 240Z cars for restoration and resale throough dealerships during a lapse in "Z" production. Highly recommend this book to those who find the "Z" an object of automotive interest.
