How great to find a prompt for an area of interest! The book has so many suggestions that you''ll be certain to find what you are looking for. The grade level begins in the intermediate level and is quite suitable for middle and high school journals. Happy writing!!

This book is full of ideas to spur children on to creative writing. It is also great because it gives children the ideal start for thought in a particular subject. Highly recommended for 8-12 yr olds.

Great for boosting your child's english skills.,

A note should be made that while this book contains many fabulous ideas for creative writing, it is geared specifically toward 4th and 5th grade students, using such ideas as, "If I were an animal, what would I be?" and "What would you do if suddenly you traded places with your parents?" It is formatted as a teacher's supplement to a creative writing class. I ordered this book thinking it was more for adults because no mention was made of its format and content.

I homeschool my children and am using this book in our 6th grade curriculm to help my son get past his fear of writing.I am excited about the questions and am looking forward to the answers my son gives for each one. The questions in it are thought proking just as the title says and will help your child "find" writing as they are simply answering a question. The book itself is well oraganized into subjects and we are going to use each subject intermittently as needed in our work in other subjects. Sadly the people that bought the book as an adult looking for writing help did not look closely at the title as they should have, it is clearly a childs book and is well suited as such.

Wrongly assuming that I had bought an inspirational tool for writers, I was disappointed to receive an educational bookled with assignments only suitable for young children. Though in that category this book must be one of the best, scoring high on imagination as well as practical use. So I keep this one on the shelf, awaiting the next generation.

High School Use,
By A Customer
This review is from: 350 Fabulous Writing Prompts: Thought-Provoking Springboards For Creative, Expository, and Journal Writing (Paperback)
I was a bit disappointed in the book since I am a high school teacher and was looking for materials to use in my class. It is written for grades 4-8, and says so on the cover. The book's description did not include this information, and my eyes weren't good enough to see it on the picture of the cover. Some of the writing activities can be modified to fit high school students, but there are better books out there for journal topics in the secondary classroom.

Depending on the kind of students you have in your writing class, and their abilities, this book can be used for younger students in the 4th or 5th grade or even for more reluctant, older students, grades 6-8. There are a variety of writing prompts here that will appeal to even the most reluctant young student, covering topics such as "Tough decisions', "Did you ever?", "The Future", "School Situations", "When You Wish", "Desert Island", "Feelings" etc. There is even a segment titled "Grab Bag" wch contains some thought-provoking writing topics.

350 fabulous writing prompts,

my only comment is that it is not meant for 4th grade. i am using it in a 4th grade classroom and can only use some of the prompts. obviously, the prompts that would be in an 8th grade classroom would be different than in my room.
