Product Description

This is a Trumpeter 1/350 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the USS Lexington (CV-2), a World War II aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. Model kit features: Optional waterline version or full hull version. Include 4 F4Fs of VF-2, 6 SBDs of VB-2& VS-2, 3 TBDs of VT-2, total 3 types 13 a/c with clear canopy, folding wings. 20pcs sprues plus lower hull, upper hull, waterline plate, flight decks and display stand. ABOUT THE CV-2 LEXINGTON: Most notable for her participation in the "Battle of Coral Sea" (May 4 -8, 1942), the Lexington launched aircrafts that sank the Japanese aircraft carrier "Shoho" and heavily damaged the IJN carrier "Shokaku". However, the Lexington was attacked and heavily damaged by Japanese dive-bombers and torpedo-bombers on May 8, 1942, and she was scuttled by two torpedoes fired from destroyer USS Phelps later that day.
