Wow... this is an amazing model! For anybody who is interested in ships, aircraft, aircraft carriers, or the navy will probably be interested in this. First, lets review the details. The first thing that I noticed when it came (today!) I noticed the tie downs. they are awesome!! I just finished the 1/350 USS Enterprise Carrier I spent two months on it, and it looks great, but the tie downs are just bumps on the deck. On the Nimitz though, the tie downs are indents, and look just like the real thing! Its amazing! It also has a hangar bay, but heres what's confusing. It seems like the hangar bay wasn't supposed to be seen. there is almost no detail on the walls of the hangar. other tha that, its a great model. I'm probably going to do another review when I finish the model, so check back around christmas or march. I might do a lot of scratch building, so it may take a long time, or a short time. Right now Im editing my review about a week after the original. After installing the hangar, I have pinpointed one thing... this is going to take a lot longer then I thought. This kit would only take about two weeks for an experienced builder, maybe a week or two more for a novice one, but I do something called super detailing. So anyway, this will take like 7 months. YAYYYY!!!!!! As you can see, I am happy. Another thing. For someone who is only interested in making a cool model, one that you can show friends and family, I would suggest not getting this. Get the Tamiya enterprise, mentioned earlier in my review. It is a good model, but not very detailed. Its a project for someone like me who likes to scratch build, buy PE parts from White Ensign Models (a very good company) and buy extra details. The Tamiya Enterprise is also a project for somebody who wants something for the mantle. Anyways, decide what you want, longer awesome looking project, or enterprise less detailed, but still awesome project.

Trumpeter has set the standard for 1/350 scale ships. The detail on this kit is as good as or better than the Tamiya Enterprise which I also own. The aircraft are much better as they use clear plastic for the cockpits. You will still need the brass detail kits to build a superior model. Since moving up to 1/350 from 1/700 (easier on the eyes)I found the variety of kits Trumpeter has makes them the premier manufacturer in this scale.
