Editorial Reviews

Wong Tai-Kwong doesn't know much about martial arts and seems doomed to a life of getting beaten up by martial artists. In order to protect himself Wong enrolls in a Kung Fu school but ends up spending most of his time cleaning the floors instead of learning martial arts. One day however while carrying water from the river Wong meets a drunken hermit who eventually becomes his Kung Fu teacher - and teaches him the "36 styles" of Kung Fu that eventually lead him to victory over a series of deadly fighters. 36 Crazy Fists features the direction and fight choreography of the master himself Jackie Chan who also has a cameo role in the film as a stunt coordinator.System Requirements: Running Time 90 MinFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: SPORTS/GAMES/MIXED MARTIAL ARTS Rating: NR UPC: 787364418992 Manufacturer No: 44189-9

1.0 out of 5 stars RIP OFF... BEWARE OF THIS FILM, August 11, 2005
By
Christopher J. Deasy (Depends on the time of year) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The 36 Crazy Fists (DVD)
As some of the other viewers have already noted... this film does not star Jackie Chan (however, he did direct it). The movie is actually pretty good- but I am here to tell you that this (Brentwood Home Video) copy is horrible. You can even see people walking in front the screen during certain parts- the images are cut off due to it being filmed directly from a TV screen. Vintage Video released the same film in "Jackie Chan- Triple Punch Collection". The box set is cheap and the transfer is actually a trasfer- not a video of a TV screen. The quality is still low, but acceptable considering it is not digitally remastered. It is ashame that Amazon carries Brentwood- they should rethink carrying such a shady company. (Just so you know- the triple punch is not that great of a deal, the second movie "fantasy mission" is ridiculously poor by any standards).

All the above aside- the film should get some credit- it is not the fault of Hua Chen that his movie was pirated and deviously marketed. The movie IS good, the surrounding context is what makes this a rip off.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money for Jackie Chan fans, November 22, 2001
This review is from: The 36 Crazy Fists (DVD)
Jackie Chan has a cameo role.
print is poor and the dubbing awful.the DVD however contains good add on features like a trivia game and a DVD dictionary giving details on dvd features, etc.
good buy only for the dictionary.
