5.0 out of 5 stars gifts from travelers, for travelers
This book is a graceful compendium of the sorts of memorable moments and small pleasures that you carry with yourself long after the luggage has been unpacked at home. Voyagers as varied as Freya Stark, Lewis Carroll, Pico Iyer, and Dervla Murphy meditate on wanderlust and the allure of the exotic -- or the familiar, rediscovered. 365 Travel is a beautiful little...

3.0 out of 5 stars pleasant book
An interesting hodge podge of stories, anecdotes, poems, etc. If one has a literary background and would recognize the names of the writers and storytellers featured, it makes the reading even more fun. Really need to be disciplined and read one a day since they are a gamut of topics and emotions.

Stuck on the commuter train again? Sitting in the backseat of the carpool? Going out of your mind because you need a vacation sooooo badly?? Slap on some sunscreen (it's good for you!) and slip into the pages of Lisa Bach's "365 Travel" for a quick and refreshing journey to the great 'somewhere else'. Travel lovers will appreciate its resonant moments of pleasure and discovery. Travel dreamers will find inspiration for spinning those escapist fantasies ever more intricately. This is an excellent collection of stuff -- don't leave home without it!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gift of Travel...Every Day!, November 10, 2005

This is an amazing collection of travel literature, and a wonderful introduction to both contemporary and classic travel writers. The editor has done a thorough and thoughtful job. I read a passage every day, and it gives me inspiration and ideas about where to travel next. It also has led me to numerous books that I now want to read. This is a FABULOUS gift for any travel lover in your life.

I loved this book, but wish it was more 'travel' size to be able to take with you on your own journey. It is an awkward size for holding in the hands and is bigger than most 'pocket' books. I hope they come out with a smaller edition in future years. I would definitely buy it.
