these guys never cease to amaze me, excellent!,

Punchline never ceases to amaze me as being one of the outright hardest working bands that I've ever seen, and that's just coming from a fans point of view. 37 Everywhere is an absolutely amazing creation that will keep you listening until the very last second of the album.
Which is about the time I started over at Track 1 again. Rinse, lather, and repeat. The songs are filled with heart and soul, which I can feel as I'm listening to their lyrics, and that's nearly extinct among some of the emerging artists today. Punchline's 37 Everywhere is a true diamond in a mine full of coal. The track that really stood out to me from 37 Everywhere is The Getaway. Steve Soboslai, Guitarist and Vocalist, relates that he originally came up with the song on a plane en route to meet the rest of the band for a tour, and the melody became stuck in his head. How do you remove such a catchy melody? You don't. I can really identify with Steve; this damn tune has been stuck in my head for at least 2 weeks now! Thank you Steve : ) Even in selecting my favorite songs on 37 Everywhere, I'd technically have to list every single one. This is one of those awesome CD's that you stick in your car's system and can listen to it all the way through. The new album is definitely not one of those mediocre albums where you skip around to the 3 tracks that you can actually stand. The live show is another testament of how hard this band is willing to work to suck you into their awesome performances. They'll do whatever it takes for you to get up and shake what your momma gave you! I brought a friend to one of their shows a while back and it didn't take long for him to get out there and starting rocking out. The fans are dedicated to the cause; I've seen it in action. I've never seen more pictures on MySpace of people all around the globe taking pictures with their home digital cameras of themselves and the new album, sporting the latest and greatest production from Punchline. If you're debating whether or not to purchase 37 Everywhere, then go ahead and sample some of the songs on the band's Purevolume page. Trust me, after you hear the brilliance that these guys have poured into every single song on 37 Everywhere, you won't stop listening. Rinse, lather, and repeat. This new album wont leave your CD player.

Yep, these guys have my heart and my ears. Not only are they personable and love their fans, but this cd is so much fun to listen to and once you've seen them perform live you see images of them in your head when you listen. They are also hilarious. I definitely recommend buying the album, listening to it constantly, and then buying tickets to see them live.

As vocalist/guitarist Steve Soboslai would say, "amz." As bassist Chris Fafalios would say, "pumpkin pie."
Simply put, this album is phenomenal. It's a very rare occasion when I pick up a CD and don't take it out of my stereo or listen to anything else for a week straight, but this album had that effect on me. Going full throttle into the first track, "Flashlight," Punchline shows you right away that this album is not only going to be catchy, but the well written, driving music and lyrics will pull you through the whole album and have you singing along after a few listens. The second track, "Don't Try This At Home," the band describes the feeling many young adults experience growing up-- uncertainty and fear, but with hope somewhere deep down. The first time I heard this song was at one of their shows in February; the verse "I'm sorry life isn't perfect/ but I promise we won't starve/ in a small, dark apartment/ with big, bright hearts" stuck with me for the 2 months after that until I had the album in my hands. Through the course of the album, the band can take you from your happiest moment (Green Light) to anger with a close friend (The Getaway) to heartbroken (For the Second Time, How Could You), to questioning your fate (Caller 10) to 33 more emotions in between. After 39 minutes, the album closes out with "Exactly," a more mellow and jazzy tune sung primarily by new guitarist Greg Wood, featuring a "motivational rant" by bassist Fafalios; for those already familiar with the band, think along the lines of "Play" on the Rewind EP. For those worried about the change of guitarists between this album and Action, don't. Greg's playing is solid and the addition of his vocals adds a welcome contrast; you can easily tell the difference between his voice and Steve's, but it works out nicely and sounds great. Through a few albums and years of hard work, Punchline has proven themselves to be a solid band that writes those kinds of albums that you still listen to on a regular basis years after you first heard them. Add 37 Everywhere to that list of albums sure to have staying power.

i like what punchline's done,

punchline has changed majorly with their new release "37 everywhere". i appreciate/respect the change, though i still find myself digging their earlier works much more.
it's all in your taste. what you get with "37 Everywhere" is a more polished/original form of music rooting from pop punk and then taken in their own direction, and that is why i respect and proudly own this album. these days it's all about being original. their earlier works were pretty cliche and overused, but even then they had their differeneces, and i have came to the conclusion that even though it was overplayed back then, i still liked their earlier stuff more. don't get me wrong, i still listen to this cd ALOT! every punchline fan should own this album. they came a long long way to get this far, and i think the cd is awesome. the only reason i gave a 3/5 rating is because a part of me wishes they would still be the band they used to be...but it is always good to see growth & change as well. well done guys. well done.

So far this has been a horribly disappointing year for new music.
Thankfully, Punchline is one of the few bright spots. They're kind of like Fall Out Boy meets At The Drive In. This is great pop-punk music and under the Fueled By Ramen label, that's no real surprise. This isn't anything groundbreaking exactly, it's not an album that will "change your life," it is however, highly enjoyable and will have you singing along the second time through. I like the sing-talking thing they do in some of there songs. It adds a more dramtic element and makes you listen more closely. It's worth the 10 bucks if you're into this genre. You won't be disappointed. Standout tracks: "The Getaway" "For THe Second Time" "The Fake, The Snake, and the Birthday Cake"

Punchline not disappointing anyone,

37 is punchline right after it's prime. While the last few tracks lack (hence the four stars instead of five), this album is full of enough punchline awesomeness to keep fans happy and maybe gain a few new ones. Not as good as Action, but you can't expect it to. 37 keeps it simple while still staying away from becoming too generic. Anthony Raneri's guest vocals on the first track add a little treat, as well.

I had only heard a couple of Punchline's songs ("Heart Transplant," "Getting There is Getting By") on a Fueled by Ramen sampler CD when I purchased "37 Everywhere" a couple of months ago. Since then I have also purchased the "Action" album and I have been to see them in concert twice!
These guys are amazing. Their song lyrics are poignant and flow alongside their infectious melodies like nothing else. Drummer PJ Caruso's beats are intrinsic and newcomer Greg Wood's back-up vocals add a nice contrast to lead singer Steve Soboslai's cultivated veteran vocals. My favorite tracks are "The Getaway," "Caller 10," and "The Fake, The Snake, And The Birthday Cake." I listen to both "37 Everywhere" and "Action" on repeat every day at work and the tracks still never feel overplayed. These albums have such a positive vibe that I can't help but smile when I listen to them. If you have a chance, you should also try to see them in concert. They put on a great show and if you can stand there and watch them without dancing along and laughing at their crazy antics then it is very possible that you are, like the lyrics say in "The Getaway," not human. Also, don't hesitate to approach them after the show, they are very down-to-earth and love to hear from their fans.

I think this album is pretty good. Greg Wood does a great job. However I liked the harmony between Steve Sobasli and Paul Menotiades better [on the Action album].

Tell me again how fans of Hit The Lights could also be recommended anything by punchline? Amazon seriously needs to update it's recommendations, because if weezer and fountains of wayne got together and did b-sides, it would probably sound like a majority of the material on '37 everywhere'. I despise weezer, so of course, this is going to be a problem for me. Why do people like this anyway? Can some one tell me whats so great about music that's slow and boring, music that has no energy or character? What truly inspires someone to give glowing reviews to a record that'll put you to sleep in 10 minutes? It must be a trend thing, cuz I just don't see how anyone could sit through '37 everywhere' and say 'wow, that was good'.
