5.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, Great Quality February 22, 2011
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
Despite some other reviews, i received the guitar on the first date of the estimated delivery.

Out of the box, it did smell a little like a chemical, but by the next day the smell was gone.

The guitar came with a Strap, a Pick, a set of strings, a harmonica, a pitch pipe, and a gig bag. However, i never got the eBook.

The strap is very cheap looking, and short, which doesn't surprise me considering the price of the whole set. The pick is, well it's a pick, nothing really special about it. The set of strings looks good, it comes with all six, although there's no easy distinction between which string being which. The harmonica is okay, it's bigger than i expected, but it works, i don't know much about harmonicas, so i can't really review that. The pitch pipe is in tune, although i doubt they make pitch pipes that don't play the right pitches. Finally, the gig bag is very thin, and the guitar fits snugly into the bag.

The guitar itself is a great quality sound-wise. No fret buzz, very clean and pretty-sounding. But when it comes to the physical features of the guitar, it has more flaws. It looks like it was spray painted black. The fret markers look like little dots made using a paintbrush and white paint. There are places where you can tell the paint dripped, and there's white on some parts of the fingerboard, and black splotches of paint closer to the body, on the fingerboard.

All in all, i think this guitar is worth every penny. It was made clear that there guitars are mass produced, which explains the physical properties lacking. But it's great for starters, and being a starter package, it's meant for beginning guitar players.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad guitar for the price July 18, 2010
By Kai
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
The guitar arrived very soon.

A strong smell of chemical something came out on the first day, so I have leave it untouched for 2 days.

The 3rd string was broken. Luckily they give a free set of string, so I could replace the 3rd string by myself.

No e-book.

The bag is OK.

Having sad that, considering the unbelievable low price, the guitar itself is not bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Guitar slow but ok product April 23, 2010
Color Name:Black, Ebony
The shipping for this item even though I paid extra for 2 day shipping took a week and a half. When I got the product the packaging was iffy and was left on my porch in the rain. There were also item that were advertised that were not in the package. After a slow response from the company, I finally received the items 2 weeks later. All in all the product was fine considering the price but they need work on their customer service.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great for Toddler.. Looks Nothing like Pic March 30, 2012
By Shadow
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
Wanted to order a cheap guitar for my little brother in law to start playing on because he got burned at the pawn shop on an electric guitar he spent his hard earned money on.. Knew this one would be smaller.. But wasnt prepared for what i got... It looks horrible, nothing like the picture almost spray painted looking.. We already covered it in stickers.. It does play tho.. Good for a toddler to trash not even worth the money for a beginner any older..

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a good one even for beginners November 28, 2012
By Anuj
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
Agreed that for this price we should not expect for a good quality but at least the guitar should be playable for beginners to learn.

I noticed the following problems which i had to fix it myself when i got my shipment.

The height of the saddle was to short which resulted in strings touching the neck and frets producing irritating sounds.
No Position Markers
The vendor provides a belt, but there were no hooks on the body to attach with

The only thing i liked was, its very light in weight.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Bad Bad, Stay Away! November 28, 2010
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
The low price of this guitar may seem enticing to a beginner player, but don't be fooled, this guitar is horrible. This was my first guitar, and I used it to learn all the chords. While I was practicing, I thought that it was my fault that everything sounded so horrible and that I was just a bad player. However, after having a friend look at the guitar, we found out that the strings come un-tuned only minutes after adjusting them (something I didn't think was possible) and the 1st and 6th string are completely useless because of it's bad quality. The fret's bars quickly fell off, making it hard to play a lot of chords. The paint job was clearly recently done, and stunk up my house for the first few days after I received it.
I had to buy a new guitar after a week because of how bad of this one is, and ended up regretting even looking at this product.
If you want extra firewood, or something to put in your house to deceive people into thinking that your a musician, than this guitar is for you. If you actually want to learn how to play, then stay away, this it is nothing more than a decoration

5.0 out of 5 stars It was 28 dollars, what do you expect? March 19, 2012
By Marc S.
Color Name:Black, Ebony|Amazon Verified Purchase
Let's face it you get what you pay for, but I must tell you that the company really is why this one is getting 5 stars. I ordered this guitar because my sons, 9 and 12, are interested in learning and well frankly, past history says this isn't going to last too long, so I didn't want to make a big investment. Tada no big investment! The guitar arrived but when we tuned it up and started to play something was terribly wrong. I had expected some issues but not this one. It tuned up fine with the electronic tuner but when you played a chord, there was some stepped on cat in the body of the guitar that squealed horribly. I tried everything I could with adjustments and restringing, but the same thing happened each time. So I called the help line number that came with the guitar and explained the situation. Well, let me tell you, they couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. They sent a replacement guitar out and now the boys are happy as two pigs in mud.

Listen like the title says, it's 28 dollars, it's a great starter set to learn some basics on and decide if you or the kids really want to take it to the next level. It's not a Gibson Les Paul and shouldn't be considered that way, but it does give a clean sound and gives them the feel of a full size guitar without the risk of a large investment if it goes south. They've enjoyed it so far and I even went out and with the new guitar and an additional 7 dollar set of strings, I purchased, we've eliminated the squealing cat and actually are listening to some decent beginner fumbling. Next adventure, lessons? Who knows, but it really accomplished what I expected and the company stood right behind it.

Thanks,
Marc
