39" Stow-Away with 4" Mattress + Boxspring

Only the mother-in-law coming to see our new home for Christmas would prompt me to spend $700.00 on a bed. But, we wanted to be assured of her complete comfort and we mistakenly assumed that $700.00 would buy quality and comfort. The wheels on the frame were off-center causing the bed to be unstable when in use, the springs were loud and the mattress was a 4" foam mattress. Before removing the protective plastic cover on the mattress, we packed it up and made all arrangements to return the bed and mattress. The return policy is so secret that even the customer service representative had to check on it and get back to me with the requirement: the "free" delivery costs of $195.00 is our responsibilty, plus we paid $115.00 to ship it back, and there is an undisclosed "restocking fee." The bed was purchased on November 21, 2010, delivered to us on December 3, 2010, returned to HomePlace group on December 10, 2010 and as of January 16, 2011, are still waiting for the refund to hit the credit card. A call to customer service on a Sunday got us to a voice mail. A most dissapointing experience with Amazon.
