5.0 out of 5 stars Great remote control truck!, November 22, 2007

If you are looking for a fun remote control truck to get you started and aren't affraid of spending a little money this truck is for you. I dropped $500 between the truck, batteries, and charger. This is not a cheap hobby or one time investment. You'll continue to spend money as parts break or you want to upgrade. But this is one reason I chose the E-Maxx, all the parts available for upgrade.

You'll need atleast four batteries. Batteries(good ones)only last about 15 minutes running it hard. The truck uses two batteries and I would recommend getting a charger that charges two batteries at a time.

I love running this truck; its quick, does great wheelies, and will go through just about anything. Things do get broke; the first week I had it I smashed into a curb full speed and broke one of the front braces. But parts are easy to get and it's fun to fix up...no big deal.

One warning - don't chase pets or run into people - 10 pounds at 20mph can do some real damage.

I'm looking forward to modifying my truck to the Maxx, hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun..., October 10, 2007

4 week now and I haven't stop enjoying this monster truck, sure is not as durable as others, but the fun in this hobby is to upgrade it, and boy if they are upgrades for this one, make it more durable, fast, an more fun. I lasted just 2 weeks whit the stock parts, since then only upgrades. upgrade it totally or just some. fist off this needs front, center and rear replacement shafts if you are using 7cell batteries the stock ones don't last very long. and all depends on how you use this truck. but if you are not braking any parts you are not having fun!:)

3.0 out of 5 stars Emaxx, August 21, 2007

Overall the emaxx is one of the best electric trucks however, that is becusase nothing falls into its class for example the txt-1 is for rock climbing the e-savage just isn't old enough to have developed a spot in the hobby stores. For the durability overall the durability on this truck sucks!I had it fo six months did'nt go off roading just drive it in the back yard in the grass of course an just as i drive up a one inch flower bed bam i lose my front skid plate. The next thing that broke was the sevo the thing just to begin with sucks. For a replacement it costs 30 dollars vs one i can get a tower with double the torque fo the same price. The replacement parts arent anything chaep or durable. When you buy the Emaxx you'll have fun in the beggining but until you drive it for after a month or two thats when all the problems come you practlicly have to baby the thing. This thing has no durabititly what so ever my on road tb-02 is more durable and that thing i used longer and pushed it harder too. So as for the emaxx i would say no. Overall i belive traxxas sukxxass for example my frineds tmaxx same situation he spent over 1,000 dollars(with recipts to prove it) on replacement parts of course some of them were upgraded ones but heck being i owned my for a month and its already halfway there doesn't make me feel to confident with traxxas. So unless you plan to rebuild everything with upgraded parts except for the speed controller this truck is a big no no. Instead take you chances and try the e-savage. By the way all there claims are bull.

Parts you neeed to buy overtime at an unwanted rate being in about 1 year

*Servo
*Skidplates both
*Tranny parts(gears inside start to wear due to truck being extra heavy even if stock weights 10 pounds vs tmaxx 5pounds fully filled)
*body
*wheelie bar truck gearing bad
*center shafts wear out
*Arm linkages
*Slipper pegs
and
*tire cement required to begin with
