5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I could give it a 6
I started listening to Duarte a few years ago. SRV clone no more. First I didn't think it could get any better than Blue Velocity. Then Vantage Point came out. His song writing is getting stronger all the time.
But this collaboration with Bluestone Co. is incredible. Great interplay between Chris and Sumitomo ( known as the Warren Haynes of Japan). Guy plays a mean...

2.0 out of 5 stars Engine Trouble
I like Chris' early, bluesy albums. They're uneven and have some poor songwriting, but when he hit, it was worth it.

This album reminded me of the mid '70s, when rock music started losing its vigor and soul. This ws a very generic bore to me. I gave it away.

I have to admit that my tastes are moving from rock to blues and blues/rock, so any artist...

Chattahoochee Side, Give it back to me, Mad as I can be. Theres not a bad song on this album. Nothing to fast forward thru or skip. I'd love to see these guys live if they ever get to the Philly area.

When I first saw the cover of 396 I didn't think it was gonna be as good as the previous CD's Chris Duarte released so if you like jazz rock and blues guitar as much as I do with a great band Blustone co Recommended .

Chris Duarte is one of the greatest guitarists not just now, but ever. In this set he teams up with a Japanese blues-rock band and the results are excellent. This album leans a little more towards rock than most C Duarte albums, but the blues shines through. Bet you thought there was no such thing as Japanese blues-rock. Enjoy !

I have to admit that my tastes are moving from rock to blues and blues/rock, so any artist moving the other way is probably gonna lose me. That's probably at least part of the reason I didn't like Kenny Wayne Shepherd's 4th album.
