Second shot...hit the wrong button and my original review disappeared into the electronic ozone....anyway...

I bought this camera from Sears looking for a bargain....price had dropped from around $70 to around $50....I was not expecting very much, but got even less....Basic idea is fine, but execution is incredibly bad....If you saw this package in a store and looked through the viewer at the sample provided in the transparent packaging, you would be very impressed....excellent 3D image almost the quality of a 35mm slide...BLATANT FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!.... printed images are grainy beyond belief....roughly equal to looking at a magazine photo or the Sunday Funny paper through a magnifying glass....no difference between VGA setting and 1.3 MP....I varied exposure control with little change....indoors, outdoors, different artificial lighting....not much difference.....and its a shame also....this could have been a neat little package....3D viewers and the format used have lots of possibilities. This was designed as a kid friendly camera and its quite easy to use....but what use is a camera that produces inferior photographs!!!!! The only good thing I have to say is that in my experimenting with my printouts, I enlarged one set beyond the 4x6 format required to use the enclosed viewers....got an adequate pair of wallet sized snapshots, which may work with my old Holmes style stereoscope even though they are not the perfect size....still not the best resolution, but far better than that which is recommended.

I have decided not to send the camera back to Sears....I like to experiment and may one day find a setting that will produce acceptable image quailty....if not I will just put it into my collection of 3D cameras...all of which work much better than this piece of crap.....

This is a really cool toy...it is thin plastic and batteries but really fun. I got it as a modern equivalent to the old "ViewMaster". Near to things (like tourist attractions) it takes a nice 3d picture (really its 2 digital pictures) and stores on a standard SD card (took it from my "normal" camera). After playing around, I did print out the 3d pictures from the card on photo paper and it worked; with the cardboard glasses "viewer thing" you can really see 3d. Kids love it. If the "viewer" was made thick like the ViewMaster it would be wonderful, and not so much a toy. Still it's a fun thing and maybe a good "teen gift". Not good as a camera (about like most cell phone cameras - no flash) and not for motion. so I still use my 14 MegPix digital.

Not a good camera for moving subjects. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a delay between the left-right shutters which produces odd effects in your pictures. Also, it produces poor results if you print your pictures and use the 3D viewers: the photos come out low resolution and look totally washed out. The viewfinder is poor in daylight and it's in 2D; you should set up your 3D shots visually before trying to frame them in the viewfinder.

However, I give it 3 stars because it can be adjusted to take good low-light pictures and it is quite good in daylight. And, if you use your computer (or iPhone) to view the pictures you will be more than satisfied with the resolution attained. I paid way less than 69.00 and cannot complain with the 3D pictures I am getting from it. Best of all, it is relatively tiny and fits in your pocket nicely. A good companion to a "real" 2D camera.
