Product Description

Telvonus ruled his kingdom for decades. Before his kingdom fell, he sealed his keep with a spell. He left only one way to enter the keep again, The Sword of Ire. The bearer of the sword would be immune to the spell and be granted entry into the keep.

Telvonus concealed the sword somewhere within the castle so that he may one day return to his keep. Telvonus has not been heard of for ages and the contents within the keep are unknown to all. Will you be the one to find The Sword of Ire and enter the keep?

Explore an ancient castle while solving mysteries and puzzles which will ultimately grant you entry into the keep itself. What lies within the keep is unknown, only those brave enough to find the Sword of Ire will be granted entry.

"Cryptic Keep" is good adventure point'n click game that due to its gameplay and fair price can be recommended.

Player needs to explore mysterious castle by solving numerous intuitive puzzles that will in the end give player access to the even more mysterious keep.
While wandering around and collecting different items, player will slowly learn about Telvonus who concealed his sword somewhere in the castle and your quest will be to find it.

The game besides good graphics has nice and interesting story that all create great atmosphere.

Overall "Cryptic Keep" is a well-made game fun and exciting to play, and with good atmosphere that can be recommended for players of all ages, the older ones will be reminded of classic `90s game Myst.
Also it's great to see such game is offered in such fair price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, Simple Adventure Game October 15, 2013
Verified Purchase
This is no Big Fish or Alawar game, that's for sure. But for 99 cents, it's not a bad deal. It's a simple adventure game that will make you think a little, but not too much. No hidden objects, simple, labeled inventory items. It is much, much better than their other game, Crypic Cosmos, which I have not even finished. In fact, I was very hesitant to buy this one, so I must say it was a pleasant surprise, and definitely a dollar's worth of entertainment.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun game, but way too short January 15, 2014

I grabbed this since it was the free app of the day. It was a fun throw back puzzler, but man am I glad it was free. I finished the whole thing in 30 minutes. It was entertaining, but even at only 99¢, it's normal price, I expect more than a half an hour of gameplay before I have solved everything in the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice object/puzzle game January 15, 2014
Verified Purchase
This is the second time this week I've had the chance to invoke very old titles such as Zork and King's Quest, but in this case much more pleasantly. Cryptic Keep is the very old style of game where you move about an environment and find objects. Then you use the objects to open new areas and interact with other objects to gain further objects.

So the entire game is a continuing puzzle leading to your ultimate objective. The puzzles are sensible. Movement around the environment does take a bit of getting used to, as it is a combination of clicking images to move forward into them, and then clicking the "back arrow" to move back out of them. The art is pleasant if not spectacular.

Personally, I played too many of this style of game decades ago to be completely involved by them at this stage of my life, but for those who aren't already burned out on the genre this is a capable and pleasant game of that style.

The game's permissions are not intrusive, and it met one of my personal criteria by exiting cleanly without staying resident in memory. :-)

I played the game on a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and had no problems with the game whatsoever.

Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun game but it is too short to earn a 5 star rating! January 15, 2014

In this game you are to enter a castle that has been sealed with a spell and find the objects you need to unlock its rooms and secrets. As you wander each area that you enter make sure that you pick up everything that you see or at least try to do so. Sometimes you have to touch everything in the room or area that you are in.

If you get stuck there is always the video walkthrough of the game. Some areas of the game are not so easy to solve but don't get frustrated. The game is interesting and it is fun trying to solve the clues. The game is short though and it does not have any replay value so if I had purchased it I might be upset. It needs to be longer.

Overall the game is interesting and fun. It does contain remnants of code for Flurry but the internet connection is off and so it does not send out any data. The game does write to your data storage area. It does not contain any adware plug ins. The graphics are simple but nicely done and the music is OK and it did not bother me. I rate it at 4 stars.

I do wish the game had a hint button because if you use the game video walkthrough it systematically shows you everything and sort of ruins the sense of accomplishment that you get for solving a level. One clue at a time would have been more interesting. This game is a good start and if it was 3 or 4 times longer it would have been a 5 star game.

Main screen controls:

* Options allow you to control the volume of the music and sound.

* Help takes you to a walkthrough video of the game.

* More games takes you to the Amazon store where you can go anywhere and buy anything so make sure that your WIFI is turned off so your children won't buy that new computer they have been wanting. There are also links to Facebook, twitter and Youtube. It will also quickly take you to the game video walkthrough.
* There is an instruction button that works. Simple instructions are provided.

This is a Decent game that is pretty well designed with lots of search challenges to find needed items that are sometimes hidden. You have to figure out how to use these items with other objects to accomplish tasks, open up new areas and make things work as needed. Keeeps your analytical and puzzle solving skills working nicely. Good Graphics, Music and Sound Effects make it very entertaining too. No Glitches, Intrusions or excessive Permissions.

Overall, an Enjoyable, Challenging and Satisfying game with some very nice Graphics and fun Puzzles to solve.
Not quite as polished or elaborate as some of the Big Name developers but certainly very good and worth the cost. I enjoy it very much and recommend it for all ages.
