5.0 out of 5 stars Fun New Scroll Saw Folk Art
I really enjoy making the whimsical projects in this book. The directions and techniques are relatively easy. The projects can be made quickly from scrap wood. Everyone I know got a little pink flamingo for Valentine's Day. I made flocks of miniature ducks and herds of tiny bunnies to stuff into plastic eggs for Easter gifts. 3-D minis are a fun new way to make little...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for people who seek high quality results.
I was intrigued by the idea of miniature wooden "statues" but was disappointed when reviewing this book. On a technical basis it does not always provide step by step instructions to achieve a result. You typically get a before and after picture. On a personal basis, the finished products are generally quite crude which does not appeal to me. I'll stick to...

The techniques are good, but the patterns are crude and require a lot of finishing when the sawing is completed. There are other sources for 3D patterns,of this size and type, that need little or no post sawing finishing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good step forward., April 28, 2008
This review is from: 3D Scroll Saw Patterns & Techniques (Paperback)
I like this book because it is simple and straight forward. While there is not a huge amount of technical information, there are great examples of what can be made. I use this book as a reference and guide, and I am not bothered by the crudeness of the finished products.
