Product Description

The Hanoi Towers also known as Towers of Hanoi, Tower of Brahma and Lucas' Tower, it's a puzzle with a mathematical solution consisting in three rods with a number of disks of scaled sizes from bigger to smaller, the smallest at the top like a conical shape.

The objective of the game is to move all the disks from the left rod to the right rod in the minimal amount of movements taking in count these 3 rules:

* Only one disk can be moved at a time
* Only the upper disk can be moved to another rod that can be empty or with another disk or disks
* A disk can't be placed over a smaller disk

The game is played by levels, each time all disk are taken to the right rod, the current level is finished and a new one begins, each new level adds a new disk to the left stack on the left rod making every new level more and more complex.

Each time a level is finished an end level dialogue appears with the following information:

* The finished level number
* The elapsed time used to complete it
* A 3 Stars rank for:

1. Minimal Movements,
2. No error or mistakes,
3. Time Record

To win the game the player must complete 7 levels

At the end, the game shows a results chart with all the completed levels, it's times, records, number of good and bad movements, the 3 stars raking obtained, and which of the 6 achievements the player got, that are the following:

Achievements:

1. The First 3 Stars: When the player got its first 3 stars rank
2. 3 Impeccable Levels: When the player got 3 stars rank 3 consecutive times
3. 3 Consecutive Time Records: When the player reach 3 level records
4. ¡Unstoppable!: When the player reach 5 level records
5. Game Completed: When the player complete all the levels
6. Best Game Time: The player finished the game with the minimal amount of time

The player can voluntary connect the game with Facebook to share the achievements and scores.

We hope you enjoy this fun mathematical game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but... November 26, 2013

...I ilke the concept of the game. I'm big in to logic type games, and this falls in to that catagory.

I just have two problems with the game. The first one is that it doesn't save your progress when you quit, so you always have to start at level 1. The other one is that it doesn't have a restart button until you finish a level, so if you get half way through a level and figure out that you made a mistake and need to restart, you have to figure out how to finish the level then click restart. Or go back to the menu and start from level 1 again.

One other little thing is what others have said, the sound isn't very good. As soon as you go over time or moves it sounds like a warning sound from a nuclear launch.

2.0 out of 5 stars mediocre November 26, 2013

You can't turn off the sound on the game (you have to turn off the sound on your phone). If you exit your game you start back at the first level. It is only useful as a teaching tool for someone learning about the Tower of Hanoi in math class. I would not recommend this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun November 25, 2013

It took me a moment to get the controls (I thought you dragged it down via finger onto each rod, etc) but it's very enjoyable. Much like Solitaire in that the electronic version is easier to reset, I love this compared to the real life versions.

Pro:
Easy to play
Fun
Replayable
Will keep siblings or kids distracted.

Con:
Turn the kindle volume off.
The font is... special.

Would I pay a dollar for it? Sure I would. It would be worth it for this sort of "I need to busy my hands and/or mind game" game. I always loved these games in real life whilst growing up, it's nice to see there's still an interest in them.

This isn't a great game, but it's not horrible either. I had no glitches or freezes and the permissions aren't excessive. The Facebook tie-in is a pet peeve of mine so be aware is't there.

The music is annoying- like turn the game off annoying and there is no way to disable it.
Once you've figured out the pattern, there is no point in playing again.
The controls are tricky until you get them.
The game has no resume, every time you open the app you're back.

The good-
It will keep your 6-10 year olds busy enough so you can wrap some Christmas gifts.
It's not a bad game, it is engaging for short periods of time if you can stand the music.

It's just a game, I don't love it, I didn't hate it.

This is an old version of a toy puzzle game that I played as a child. There is not anything new here except a tie into Facebook. I don't understand why every developer wants my Facebook account and contacts list.

Game play is OK but the controls are a little off and they take a little time to get used to. After playing several levels I had to stop for 20 minutes and when I came back I had to start over again at level 1 as there is no way to save your progress. In addition you cannot simply restart a level that you feel that you have already spent too much time on. These little issues take some of the fun out of the game.

The graphics are nice but the music is annoying. This is a mind puzzle that once you figure out the pattern is becomes very easy. For me this game is a 3 star item and I am glad it was free because I would not purchase it. While it is free get it, I am not sure that it is worth a dollar.

3.0 out of 5 stars Poor implementation hampers fun; no replay value November 26, 2013
Verified Purchase
The puzzle is moderately fun, even after you figure out the progression sequencing (kids will get it much faster). But it's marred by flaws in user experience.

There is no way to reset the level, and when you exit you lose you progress, having to start over at the beginning. The controls aren't very responsive, too.

Of course once you've figured out the patterns, the game's replayability goes out the window.

The graphics are decent, but the sounds and music are somewhat annoying.

I don't care for the Facebook tie-in either.

It might be worth a buck to you, but not to me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring November 26, 2013

This game kept me entertained for about a minute. I normally like puzzle games but this was pretty boring. On the plus side, there are no strange permissions or anything, so if you want to try it, go for it.

3.0 out of 5 stars No Wi-Fi required November 26, 2013

The game plays fine on my kindle fire hd. However there is no button for the settings to turn off the music or sound effects. You will want the music turned OFF. Every time you go to play you must start at level 1. There should be a to go to where you left off at.

NO Wi-Fi required.

Very challenging but when you get the trick of it, that's it. There's nothing to keep you playing. But get it if it's free.
